Hello everyone
Greetings to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you are all doing great, it is a lovely day out here as I will be sharing with you today from my sewing room the making of this beautiful purse I made from the left over fabric I had after making a beautiful bag for my sister, as you may know, I love to make use of every piece of fabric to the last piece, from these pieces of fabric, I create simple and useful project and this has helped me to learn more and improve in creativity. This is the beautiful bag I made for my sister from which I made a matching purse from the left over fabric.
Recently, I made a bag for my sister as a Christmas gift which she was very happy to receive and after making the bag, I had some left over and I decided to make a purse with it just as the customized bags sold in stores with a small purse with the bag, after making this, the outcome was so nice, though, this will be a surprise to my sister as the bag I made has been delivered to her during Christmas.
Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process of this small purse.
From the left over fabric, I cut out 2 pieces of 12 x 8" with lining and interfacing, the interfacing was ironed on the main fabric and set aside.
On the main fabric, I marked out 1.5" on both sides of the down part and 1.5" on at the top, it was connected and cut out.
It was placed on the other piece and lining to cut out same shape.
I took a piece of the main fabric and placed my zipper on it before I placed the lining on the zipper, it was sewn together and top stitched on the other side.
On the other side of the zipper, I placed the other fabric on it and zipper before it was sewn together as well and top stitched on.
I went ahead to place the main fabric to main fabric and lining to lining with the zipper opened to the middle and I sew on both sides leaving an opening on the lining from where it can be turned inside out.
The opening on the four sides were sewn together on each side just as seen below.
Finally, it was turned inside out and I have this beautiful purse here.
I'm sure you like the simplicity and beautiful outcome of the matching purse I made for my sister's hand bag as a gift.
You could say it is the gift of Kings hehe, how nice it is to receive a detail made with love, as you show in this bag I congratulate you dear, happy day.
Your sister will be so happy to see this. It is beautiful, stylish, and elegant. You're good at what you do. Thank you for sharing this. Keep it up!
