Para mi primera publicación en el Amazing Nature Contest realizado por @adalger, escogí las increíbles playas de La Sabana, un pueblo costeño de la Parroquia Caruao en el Estado Vargas en Venezuela. Estas fotos las tome en el año 2013 cuando estuve allí por trabajo, entrevistando a líderes comunitarios de la localidad como parte de una investigación. Puedo decir que éstas son las playas más hermosas y tranquilas del estado Vargas, seguramente tiene que ver con que para llegar a ellas debes viajar varias horas, preferiblemente en un carro rústico.

For my first post in the Amazing Nature Contest made by @adalger I choose the incredible beaches of La Sabana, a coastal town in Caruao, at the Vargas State in Venezuela. I took these photos in 2013 when I was there for work, interviewing local community leaders as part of an investigation. I can say that these are the most beautiful and quietest beaches in the Vargas state, surely it has to be with the fact that to get to them you must travel several hours preferably in a rustic car.

Lo que hace increíble para mí este paisaje son los colores, los muchos azules y verdes del mar, un cielo perfecto, acompañados con los verdes oscuros e intensos de las montañas. La foto de un pelícano en vuelo,(un Pelecanus occidentalis, conocido como pelícano pardo) me sorprendió porque siempre intento tomar fotos a los animales increíbles con los que me encuentro, y aunque me ha sido difícil lograr fotos que les hagan justicia ésta me gusto mucho, creo que capta la felicidad y tranquilidad de vivir en un lugar como éste y volar libre en este cielo y sobre ese mar.

What makes this landscape incredible for me are the colors, the many blues and greens of the sea, a perfect sky, accompanied by the dark and intense greens of the mountains. The photo of a pelican in flight, (a Pelecanus occidentalis, known as a pardo pelican) surprised me, because I always tried to take photos of the incredible animals I meet, but even if it has been difficult for me to get photos that do them justice, I really like this one, I think it captures the happiness and tranquility of living in a place like this and flying free in this sky and over that sea.

Me encanta la idea de coleccionar imágenes de la naturaleza increíble de nuestro planeta, me alegra mucho compartir estas fotos que han estado guardadas en mi computadora por años y que ahora ustedes pueden verlas. Espero puedan sentir algo de la belleza de este paisaje.

I love the idea of collecting images of the amazing nature of our planet, I am very happy to share these photos that have been saved on my computer for years and now you can see them. I hope you can feel something of the beauty of these landscapes.
