Hello Hiver! Today the weather is very nice so I want to share some pictures of flowers in my garden. This is the time nearly with the Lunar New Year and just have 10 days left we will be on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Every year at this time we usually have a lot of activities to prepare to welcome the biggest occasion of Asia. The people in my hometown begin to sell many flowers on the street and many different flowers are placed in pots and displayed on the sidewalks. This is a time to end the winter and begin the spring, so many flowers are blooming at this time. Let's come with me and admire some flowers' pictures that I captured this morning.
Ochna
Ochna is one of the favorite flowers of many people in Vietnam, especially the time at the end of the year. They often use Ochna trees to display in front of the house, hall of hotels, or company to welcome the Lunar New Year. For people in my hometown, Ochna is considered a symbol of wealth, fortune so they believe that they will have a lot of luck, wealth, and fortune all year if they display the Ochna tree in front of their house in the first new year days. The Ochna tree is a perennial plant, it can live for one hundred years, they are usually cared for and shaped by artisans to have eye-catching shapes, attract viewers, and serve for display. This flower usually blooms in the spring So this is considered a flower symbolizing spring in southern Vietnam. Besides, their value also increased over time based on the development of their shape.
Brainy flower
Actually from the moment, I looked at it I didn't know what the name of this flower was, this is a small flower growing in my grandfather's garden with green leaves and red flowers. After wondering for a while, I searched for it a lot on google through the pictures I took and learned that is called Brain flower. Brain flower is the strangest name I have ever heard, I think it got its name because the shape of this flower resembles a brain. Because I'm quite unsure about this name if I'm wrong please let me know.
Bougainvillea (another name is paperflower)
Bougainvillea has another name is Paperflower, this flower is commonly grown in Vietnam. This flower has the form of vines and they are also grown as ornamental plants or creating beautiful landscapes in public places such as parks or flower roads. They are thorny woody plants with paper-thin flowers and come in many different colors, so they are called Paperflowers. These are some branches of the bougainvillea tree that my grandfather took out and planted in a display pot in the garden. Because of many consecutive rainy days, these flowers are a bit wilted and don't spread out like when they first bloomed.
Ixora flower
Ixora flower is a common flower in Asia, mainly in tropical and subtropical areas. This is a flower that occurs in many hedges around my house. This flower has dark green leaves and crimson inflorescence. Because its shape is quite special, this flower is often used to decorate the fences in my hometown. As far as I know, this flower blooms all year round and is often used in Hindu worship as well as folk medicine.
Small white flowers
Small white flowers are one of the flowers that are abundant in my garden. They grow at the bottom and bloom into many small white flower branches. I don't know where the source of this flower comes from but this is one of the flowers that make me quite impressive because they live almost to the ground but still have a pure white color and form beautiful bushes.
Above are some flowers in my garden taken on a beautiful morning. It feels great to see flowers in full bloom after a long cold winter. Hopefully, this is a sign of a new spring full of life and happiness. I hope this article will help you get more energy and joy to welcome a great day.
I feel like Tet holiday is here. I love the Ochna the most.
