Have you been to Lake Tyrrell it seems about 4 hours from Melbourne and is pretty damn impressive. I knew the pink would be from algae on the salts but it odd to think sometimes the algae gets wiped out so to speak. Here we often see algae taking over ponds and lakes and not in a good way!
I presume Jetti had a great time though, and did not care if the water was pink or not :)
I've been told the same :) I've lived in Melb for a year but haven't discovered much, my first time hearing about Lake Tyrrell. I just checked its location, and it's in Grampians where I visited not too long ago, damn how I could miss it..!! It looks incredible. That's great, thanks and now I have more reasons to return to Grampians soon after the winter season :)
Hehe I love to explore places, but I have never been to Melbourne or Grampians, but Grampians is a big hilly area in Scotland so I got curious to see what is near you!
