Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
Welcome to the 104th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)
I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.
The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.
The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)
Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.
I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:
Only one entry (photo) per person per round.
The photo must be yours and not older than one week.
Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.
You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.
Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.
I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)
To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:
Despite the annoying winter weather, I go out every day but I haven´t been lucky enough to capture some nice fresh natural photos lately so I have to use one from last Thursday (still just 7 days old though so it´s in accordance with the rules). It was actually the very first time for me to cross the Zwierzyniec Bridge here in Krakow, Poland that day and I noticed there are some interesting views of the Wisla River from there so I snapped this picture. Zwierzyniec is a suburban part of the city, which is why you cannot see many buildings on the banks of the river but mostly trees and vegetation. It must be a really nice spot to appreciate the beauty of nature in spring or summer when everything is green over there...
In the last round, we had 9 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:
@thebalanceguy with this entry:
I took this on Sunday at a beach called Banna Strand, that’s only a 10-15 minute drive from where I live on the southwest coast of Ireland. Quite often there’s good surf here, but this was not a day for surfing... This was a day for appreciating the powerful cleansing effect of the sea air. Plus, the view here changes constantly, so it’s a great place to sit and just ‘be’.
@loulou1987 with this entry:
Hi @phortun, I am adding my photo from Saturday from our skitouring trip in Krkonoše, Czech Republic. It was freezing, windy, metres of snow but that´s what I like as you know :D The photo was taken at Lysá hora and it was just about 30 minutes when we saw a bit of sky. However, it was all worth it.
@betterthanhome with this entry:
Today I´ve found this beautiful spot while I was exploring the western coast of the Algarve in Portugal. This beach is called Praia da Azenha do Mar and it is so different to my last entry from the southern coast of the Algarve.
Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)
I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.
Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!
I post this series in the Amazing Nature community, a great community for all nature lovers. Feel free to check it out ;)
Now let me surprise you :P
Here is a photo I took only 5 minutes ago :D
It is from the backyard of our country house in Bulgaria. The snowdrops went in blossom 3-4 days ago and as it seems, if it wasn't for you, I'd miss taking a single photo of them, as it is quite warm for the season in the last week :)
No edit at all, just used the Vivid filter of my Sony phone and uploaded straight to the contest :)
Have a great day and a slice of PIZZA :)
What a nice surprise indeed! As far as I remember, this is your very first entry in this challenge :) And I love it! Awesome close up, I cannot wait to see the first snowdrops here in Krakow too. Btw can you just add the location? Doesn´ t have to be very specific, a country and / or region would be fine ;) Thanks!
Oh, is it? I thought I participated long ago but somehow I miss that shoot and quickly upload action as I am always focused on preparing photos from all the past photo travels for the stock agencies and for my blogging :)
Thanks, I'll add a country now.
I am not sure now, this challenge has been around for 2 years already so it´s possible that you already participated in it some long time ago and I just don´t remember :) Anyway, it´s cool to have you here in this round. Oh and thanks for adding the location, I didn´t know you are from Bulgaria :) Cheers from (a Czech currently in) Poland :D
It is very interesting how complex such platform are, I joined in 2018 and still miss so many things :)
Wonderful how we learned a bit more about each other, it appears we're almost neighbors, LOL :)
I have to admit, I haven't traveled to Poland yet, it was on my radar before covid and I watched a few documentaries since, so I have pinned points on my to-go list already :) So many postponed voyages...
I'll drop you a line if/when the real plans are in motion :)
Right :) I actually haven´t been to Bulgaria yet but I would like to visit one day, I know a lot of people there and from there :) Well, looking at your stunning photos, I can see you also like to capture architecture so you should definitely visit Krakow, this city is literally packed with incredible architectural gems. But so is Prague, the capital city of my Czech homeland :)
Funny, I just published a story from Sofia :)
I've been to Prague already, it is one of the most beautiful European capitals, in my humble opinion.
I'll try to find the posts here :)
Putting Krakow on my list too :) Thank you :)
Added the info to the parent post, cheers!
Hi @Phorum
This is a picture few days ago from my walk in my favorite park, which is called Green Timbers Park in Surrey, Canada. I love the different kinds of beautiful nature you can find in this park. Even though it is still winter here, and the trees are still naked , I founded still so beautiful with all these ferns covering the ground. I actually just made a post about it, and it was super hard just to pick one picture.
Thank you for this awesome contest.
Hey Joanna, welcome to the challenge! :) Happy to have you here with this beautiful entry. Yeah, ferns, moss and lichens are the main source of greenery in the forest here in Central Europe in this part of the year too but you really captured it nicely, I love it :)
Thank you @phortun for the warm welcome and for creating this beautiful contest.
Congratulations to the winners :-)
I'll add one photo right away. It's not much about nature, because I mostly move around cities during the week. Yesterday (Wednesday 9.2.22) sunrise in Český Krumlov was worth noting :-)
Dominantním prvkem je ten krásný barevný západ a to je zcela jistě dílo přírody, takže za mě v pořádku ;) Díky.
Ten "krásný barevný západ" je půl hodiny před východem slunce :-)
No jo, sunrise, už to vidím... To je tak, když člověk spí jen 4 hodiny a snaží se normálně fungovat :D :/
:-D
Hi bro, I just set up the voting trail to follow yours , all the best and let me know when to less vites get zhrough, then I will tweak the settings a bit ;)

Wow! Thank you so much Sandy :) Your votes will make a huge (positive) difference to all those little accounts that I upvote manually. Very kind of you!
Nice, thats the so cool, live the effort, keep it up 🍻
My autovoting stops at 90 % so here and there some votes eill be missed I guess, we see how it goes outherwise let me inow, then I van twerk the setings and make shure enough votes get through :)

!giphy cheers
You mean the trail stops when your voting power drops below 90%? Then I think only a few votes will make it as I really vote a lot and my voting power is usually drained down to between 50% and 60% :D Sorry about that. Maybe you can lower the limit and also lower the weight of your votes? That would mean more (smaller) votes will make the cut...

I think @loulou1987 will love it too haha, she is a huge fan of sceneries like this one :D
Wow! I need to go there! :) Thanks for sharing that and thanks @phortun for the tag ;)
Yeah it is really beautiful, and all the villages around this one have places like this! Rufikopf in Lech might be my favourite :)
Thanks again for choosing my photo. Here is another one from an awesome beach I´ve found on Portugals west coast yesterday. We had to climb down the cliffs using a rope to reach that beach.
Wow, very interesting rock formation. Thanks for another cool entry man!
Hello, Mr. @phortun. Long time no see. In this return, I only went camping in Hoa Bac commune. This location is next to a small stream, and the night here is quite cold. I had a great time when the sun came up; everything here is fantastic.
Awesome shot, thanks. When did you take it?
Cool! I can't understand why I didn't spot this contest before.
I've added it to my weekly overview post of photo contests 😊
And I'll submit a photo myself later on.

Well, it´s a weekly challenge and today is the 104th round, which means it has been around for exactly 2 years :D But no worries, there are many photo contests on Hive and it´s easy to miss out on some ;) Thanks for adding it to your list and I will be looing forward to your entry!
I haven't been walking a lot last week since I have been to the office the entire week.
On one of my lunch walks I did spot this Egyptian goose which wasn't bithered at all thT I came close to him (or her) with my smartphone to take this shot. It was too busy scratching its belly 😄
There we go, very cool capture, thanks :) Can you just add the location please?
It's in the Hague, the Netherlands
Děkujuuu! 😍
Já děkuju za pravidelnou účast v soutěži! ;)
Congrats to winners. I hope I will be able to join again.
Thanks for checking them out, I will be looking forward to your entry :)

City of Vršac (Banat, Serbia)
Unfortunately there are more than seven 😑
Next time I will make sure the photo is within seven days.
Hey there, thank you very much for joining the challenge. To make your entry valid though, you should also add where (a country or / and region is fine) and when (to make sure it´s not older than 7 days) you took the picture. Thanks :)
My pleasure @phortun 😊

Yes 🤗
My pleasure, there is no honor in lying.
See you next time🤗
oh wow, thank you @phortun for choosing my picture. It's one of my favourite spots, so it was nice to share it with my fellow hiveans :-)
My pleasure! It was a really nice picture :) I hope to see you in this challenge more often. Have a nice weekend!
@phortun you certainly shall 😃
In fact, here’s one for this week..
Same beach, different day!
Today was the first day this week with conditions that were anyway good for surfing at this spot. Banna Beach, just about 10 minutes drive from Tralee, Ireland. Tide was incoming, and about half full when I took this shot this morning.
Beautiful, thank you very much :)
