Hello everyone,
This is the third post of the series, “Maintaining an apple orchard”. Today I was in my Orchard number-1 where we had to spray micronutrients and fungicides. It was a tough day as this orchard is quite big with around 100 full sized apple trees.
The first task was to mix the fungicides and micronutrients in water. We mix them in a drum of 200L. This orchard requires about 6 such drums to be sprayed. It was a task and took about 3-4 hours to complete.
The second task was to spread the pipe in the whole orchard. It’s me who’s taking the pipe till the end.
As I already mentioned, this orchard is quite big and more than one pipe is required to be attached. Thus I called my brother to bring another bundle of pipe. Here the picture of my brother.
Now, the next task was to attach the nozzle to the extreme end of the pipe. That’s my father doing that work.
We are ready to spray now. We turn on the engine and start to spray on the apple trees.
These are the tiny drops that are left out after spraying. My father sprayed for an hour and a half, after that I took the command of spraying.
Now the next photo is a POV kind of photograph. 😂
I wasn’t able to capture more photographs as I had to complete the work.
This is the last photo I captured when we were making bundles of pipe after completion of spray.
It was a tiring day today but this hard work will one day pay off.
I’ll be posting continuous progress of my orchard on hive. Stay tuned.
