Just looking at the sunset clouds, I knew it was going to be difficult to get the super moon tonight.
We have been having the normal storms these past few days and the weather was full of tricks. So I knew that it was going to be a battle to even get a glimpse of this famous moon.
These photos of the moon are all fresh from my camera right now.

Oh yeah, I was right as there was plenty of cloud, but I am known as a patient man.
A lovely colorful shot in a weak spot in the clouds.
This wind-cloud spread was my crystal ball for the expected cloudy conditions tonight.
It is called the "Flower Moon" because it is the Spring season in the Northern hemisphere.
It is also a full moon a Super moon, and a Blood moon, all in one. There are also other names for it, Mother's moon, Milk moon and Corn planting moon.
So, wherever you are, one of the names will be applicable in your country.

Ah, the color appeared as a small break in the clouds appeared and I was ready for action.
Bang! There it is! Our Super moon tonight and it was worth the wait methinks.
Finally just a pleasant photo to close the post.
There is a very large and solid cloud bank drifting over the moon now and I hope that in a couple of hours time that I will get some more clear shots at the moon.
But for now, this is it.

Moon was super over the last two nights, did not photograph, stood outdoors and enjoyed watching the light clouds playing over her.

Very nice Zac, but I am sure that later you will get more photos of the supermoon.
If I am able to get up in a couple of hours I will try to take some photos of it too, but maybe it will be too cozy in my bed, and tomorrow will be a long day.

Thank you so much Zac, and you are right, the plain moon on black background is a more or less boring image that everybody can make.
The other one was harder to take, because I was standing on a muddy farm field and later I made my wife's car quite dirty with my shoes what caused some not so nice words from her 😉

Amazing moon photos. This actually got me thinking of how long it has been since I last even went to the rooftop and just observed the night sky and such a huge moon. Sometimes it is very easy to get lost in the business of it all. Thanks for the reminder that there is something cool even at night. But maybe I should blame working at night and sleeping during the day...
Thank you and oh yeah, I know how it is, as I also worked night shift many years ago. My problem is that I cannot sleep in the day, but I stuck it out for 5 years.
Just try to get out as much as you can.

I will definitely make a point to get out more and more even if only for an hour on a daily basis. The cool thing is I can sleep at any time of the day but I think establishing a sleeping routine is much better if only our bodies didn't so heavily depend on the rhythm. lol
