One evening I was in the city of Caucagua in the state of Miranda in Venezuela, talking with a friend named Angel, which triggered a bodily emotion with his hand to an object calling my attention, when I turned around, I realized that we were in the presence of a spider.

As a researcher and photographer, this encounter caught my attention, so I approached it little by little with the intention of taking a picture with the macro lens of my camera.

Here I achieved a marvel of photography, I could say that I saw myself face to face with the Lycosides spider.

Searching the Web, I found that Lycosidae belong to a family of araneomorph spiders, whose members include those that are called tarantulas in Europe and America. Lycos is a Greek word meaning wolf, and in many languages, such as English, the expression "wolf spiders" has been adopted as a translation of Lycosidae.

Many people wanted to kill her, but I defended her, I told them that we didn't have to hurt her, that she deserves to live just like us, so I grabbed a broom and pushed her back to her natural spaces.

On the other hand, I was able to live the experience of being able to record a spider, as I already have in my portfolio, I really hope to continue experiencing these experiences with nature and photography that make me very happy. Without further ado, I hope you can enjoy the beauty of this spider.

it seems pretty big, might even scare the cat 🐈

Yes, it is quite big, the good thing is that it was quiet.

Excelente manera de protegerla.

So glad you saved him! This is a wandering spider of the family Ctenidae, it looks like, and they're often confused for wolf spiders due to looking almost the same. The difference is mainly in how their eyes are arranged. Wandering spiders are also called "tropical wolf spiders" because of this. But they're pretty similar spiders to each other, both being excellent hunters. Wonderful find!

Greetings, good that I clarified, since I searched and I got two versions, I did not know which of the two to place, so I put the one that most resembled me, however, I was wrong, but what makes me happy is that I agreed that it is a wolf spider, thank you very much for supporting me with this information.
