Spring blooms.

Hello friends of Hive!

Spring has arrived for a while now, that’s why today I would like to talk to you about some particular blooms that populate our territories at this time of year.
As I told you before, in addition to being a photographer, I am also a small beekeeper who is getting experience, just for this reason it is very important to know the various plants and the various flowers, which give nectar to bees, essential for their survival but also for the production of honey.
The two plants we are talking about today, are two wild plants that usually grow in a shifty way, but that are of fundamental importance because they are nectar plants from which a very good and delicate honey is obtained.

The first plant is The Asfodelo, better known as wild onion, is a plant characterized by a flower of a delicate pink and white color, it is a really beautiful plant, especially when it fills entire fields.

This plant is very important for the production of honey, in fact my beekeeper ‘s boyfriend and I, we were lucky to find a hill full of these plants.

That’s why we brought our bees to this wonderful place to make Asfodelo honey. We hope to succeed!!

Our bees as you can see from these photos have really liked the nectar of this plant, they are very hectic, we always see them flying and landing on these wonderful flowers.

The pollen of this flower has a very intense color, a red that tends to orange , and it is beautiful to see the paws of our bees full of this pollen, which is then brought inside the hive!

The second flowering I want to talk about is Facelia.

We often find it in this period, she too is a wild plant.
Also this plant is much loved by bees, by much nectar and the honey that is obtained is very clear and delicate.

It has a beautiful purple flower and I can assure you that seeing fields full of these flowers is something magnificent!
