Whether from living in such a remote area, or just generally preferring to live as a semi-loner, I've found myself growing more and more fascinated by and attached to animals lately. And we are surrounded by so many here, it's hard not to become a little obsessed. From the little baby dragonflies to the black mambas, I'm in awe, daily.

Some of my favourites are the bats

In particular, we have a very cute little guy that flies around our patio every single night, catching bugs. I'd also noticed a whole lot of them circling a particular tree the other night, so I decided to see if I could get a few snaps of them perhaps sleeping in that same tree during the day. But lo! Somehow I had missed it, we have a wild fig tree growing in our garden!

Took a couple more snaps, it's a beautiful tree indeed:

This next one immediately had me reminiscing, thinking of my love for Fern Gully as a young girl:

It was of course this tree from the movie that came to mind:

Add to THAT, my favourite CHARACTER from the movie (Batty):

Love and peace to all,

I didn't see tree like this before. I'm not sure if I can find it here in my country. But I like the tree's figure. The apperance of the fruit has a little bit resemblance of the guava fruit. I don't know if yu have already seen guava fruit. We have many guava trees here.

Hi @kellyane, I have indeed, and absolutely love them :)
For the record, I didn't eat these wild figs - when I pulled a few off the tree, a white sap came out, which I was always taught means "poison" - so I was too scared 😅
