AMAZING NATURE CONTEST ENTRY May 2021 #2: Creatures of Zanzibar

It's safe to say I have become obsessed with the strange creatures that live on this tropical island of Zanzibar. And just as I think I've seen them all...out pops a new one!

First up, probably the oddest, but coolest, little bug:

In this photo, he (or she!) was headed across the walkway, slowly but surely. I almost didn't notice it, but safe to say it blew my mind. I have no idea what this little guy is called, I've gone ahead and dubbed it Stick-Bundle-Buggy.

Next, we have some of the largest snails I've ever seen, roaming the garden:

The pen is for size reference of course, can you even believe it?? 😲

Third up, a super cute little chameleon:

You can't really see it in this photo...but he was still a little upset with me here, after I had to move him to a different tree for safety's sake.

One creature I wasn't able to save, unfortunately, was this guy I found washed up on the beach. Looks like something from my nightmares, but amazing, nonetheless!

And last, but certainly not least - so amazing I'll even include two photos of him here - is this Red Colobus Monkey, that came to visit me on our balcony at home!

He hung out for probably three hours or so, eating berries off the trees just next to the balcony, chilling on the balcony, climbing up onto the roof, even venturing INTO the house when we'd forgotten to close one of the glass doors! I felt very blessed and lucky to receive this special visit, I look forward to more 😊.

There are most definitely many more weird and wonderful little creatures in Zanzibar that I'm hoping to capture snaps of, I will surely post them here when I do. Isn't nature amazing?
