The new year is here, and the new camera. When I got home from testing out the camera last week, there were a couple of my "pet" yard deer hanging out at the end of our driveway. Of course, I couldn't resist a few shots of them. Open full view for best look.
Couldn't resist this nice crop of the fawn, looks like he's smiling at the camera!
Just mama and a couple young deer / old fawns hanging out.
and had to crop this one in a bit as well.
Always love seeing them hang out.

Thank you!
Oh the deer, I loved the close encounters. I never saw a bear or cougar, just found their poop on the front porch lol. I lived right next to the Cheyenne Mountain High School in the Broadmoor area.
Nice, we are farther north up in Franktown. We had a few bear sightings last year, some of the video and pics from the security cams on my earlier posts. Hoping to get some camera shots of them this year. I haven't seen a mountain lion in the wild yet, but some of the neighbors have them on security cam footage, so I know they are around.
I never made it to that area, just passing by on I25 lol. We had ppl encounter 2 mount.lions up in the garden of the gods but that's about it. They are better off hiding I suppose.
How sweet to see, especially in your yard like that! I haven't seen any fawns yet this year!
A feel good post!
Thanks, I always enjoy seeing them. Had three big large bucks in the yard yesterday. Startled me when walking to the mailbox, my head still focused on work and then wow, there they were.
Haha! :)) That is the best kind of view. Up close and personal. Do you feed them, or are they just that chill walking around there? I lived in San Antonio and the mule deer there would walk right up into your yard and snack on your flowers, even with you banging on your window. :))
It is only when I came to the conclusion that there would be no flowers and it was me that was the intruder on their territory. Up close, they are as beautiful as they are in the distance.
We Don't feed them, unless you count the spring flowers. lol. Yes, there has been some window banging here too. The pond has definitely brought them around more over the last few years, as the older and now the younger ones have learned where the consistent water source is. I"m planning to put up some bird feeders to get some pics, that may attract them a bit as well, not sure.
Maybe corn, but I think that's baiting. I love your pets!
It's only baiting if you're hunting them, lol. Not planning to hunt any of my yard pets. Only the sheds, only the sheds. I do enjoy finding the antler sheds. Like little treasures hidden in the woods!
My kids loved finding them!! (We had a summer house on the Canadian border with 80 acres) It was amazing for nature!
