Harvest Moon Trail-way

I'd like to introduce you to one of my dog, Dude's, favorite hiking trails. This trail is very easy, flat, clean, and safe, right next to the ocean.

This trail used to be a train track. Unfortunately, they stopped using railroads and train services... Noooo! I can't believe they removed the railroads and dumped dirt on them. It was a valuable and useful system for everyone I guess.

When I arrived in this town, I couldn't believe it. No train? Even though they used to have one? How could they stop such a useful service for people? Most people drive cars here, but what about children, students, international students, tourists, and old people, or those who can't drive? There is a bus service in town, but it only runs once an hour.

If we still had trains, people would surely use them. The railroad was right next to the beautiful ocean, and tourists would be attracted by the gorgeous view. This town craves tourism and new international students but they went in the opposite direction.

Anyway, the town turned the railroad into a hiking trail for people. We can walk, jog, or ride bicycles there. It's a great atmosphere for hiking. I hope they can introduce eco electric buses or small automatic vehicles for this trail so we can visit many different towns.

In the air, there are flags representing the town, Nova Scotian, Canadian, and Mi’kmaq.

There is a tide time schedule, and there is also bad graffiti.

There is an old railway in town.

This Park was built in 2000.

There is a monument about history of this railway.

There is a sign providing information about the Glooscap story, the Mi’kmaq, and Mi’kma’ki by the Glooscap First Nation.

You can see the Blomidon cliff which is connected to the Gloosecap story.

It was cloudy but we could see the cliff clearly.

Okay then, we can go for a walk now.

There is a warning sign about this trail.

They convey that there are garbage stations and bins for dog poop, but some people do not pick up after their dogs.

There are beautiful sumac trees. You can see the old railway behind the trees.

There is the Aboiteau system used for the dikes.

There is a long long trail.

There are blackberries.

There is an apple tree.

There are guelder-rose bushes.

There is a mountain-ash tree.

ハーベスト・ムーン・トレール

ドュードの好きな散歩道のひとつであるハイキングトレールをご紹介させて下さい。このトレールら簡単で、平たんで、キレイで、安全な海の横にあります。

このトレールは昔は線路でした。残念ながら廃線になり、列車もなくなりました…。そんな〜！線路を取り除いて土をかぶせてしまうなんて信じられません。みんなにとって、大変便利なサービスだったはずです。

町にやってきたとき、信じられない思いでした。電車がない？前はあったのに？みんなにとって便利なシステムなのに一体なぜ？
ほとんどの人がこの辺りでは車を運転しますが、子どもたち、学生、留学生、観光客、ご老人、車を運転できない人たちはどうすればよいのでしょう？バスがあることはあるのですが、１時間に１本程度の本数しかたりません。

もし電車があれば、もちろん人びとは利用するでしょう。線路はかつてきれいな海の横にありましたので、絶景が旅行者をさぞかし魅了したことでしょう。この町は観光客と留学生増やしたくてしかたない町なのに、なぜ反対方向に進むのでしょうか。

いずれにせよ、この廃線の跡は、ハイキングトレールになりました。歩いたり、ジョギングしたり、サイクリングしたりできます。ハイキングには最高の雰囲気です。もし、エコの電動バスやオートの小さな乗り物などができれば、観光客たちが他も町を行き来できることでしょう。

さて、いよいよウォーキングしましょう。

トレールについて注意書きがありますね。

いろいろな場所にゴミ箱がきちんと設置してあり、犬のフン用のゴミ袋もあります。それでもフンを拾わない人もいるのですが。

美しいスマックの木があります。木の後ろには昔の線路が見えますね。
