I see the mountains almost like wild animals that the locals domesticate and put a saddle on top of … or, more plainly, roads, so we can ride on their backs.
Love this description! The mountains here in Oaxaca are very undomesticated, at least in my area. Lots of cacti and other not-so-friendly plants.
Oh, it's also a wild, wild world here in Colombia. This morning, as I was breakfasting, I saw an eagle snacking on a snake, nearby, and there are snails the size of small chickens. I picked up the giant snail in wonder, only to learn (from the locals) that it was poisonous!
Small price to pay, if you ask me, for the splendors of nature. Enjoy Oaxaca, @katiecat1111
