Chalk finishing touches to the wings, what an apt description, how beautiful this one is!

Perhaps it was taking up salts off the paving before you moved it, butterflies have fascinating habits, of course he may have been sun bathing!

    Hi @joanstewart, yes I also thought it was sunbathing but I was worried about it being stepped on as this is a very busy road. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing that I left it in the vegetation, although that's no guarantee that it would return to the sidewalk hehehe.
