Hello, I have here some pictures of a dragonfly, the Scarlet skimmer. It is a female, you can tell by the color of the body. The body of females is olive brown and the body of males is blood red. The eyes are red in the upper third with both sexes.
Hallo! Ich habe hier einige Bilder einer Großlibelle, dem Scarlet skimmer. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Weibchen, zu erkennen an der Farbe des Körpers. Bei Weibchen ist der Körper olivbraun und bei Männchen blutrot. Die Augen sind bei beiden Geschlechtern im oberen drittel rot.

Im richtigen Betrachtungswinkel schimmerten die Flügel im Sonnenlicht.
Every now and then the wind caught the dragonfly. Even though it appeared that it was being carried along by the wind, it stayed on the waving blade of grass.
Hin und wieder erfasste der Wind die Libelle. Auch wenn es den Anschein machte, dass sie durch den Wind mitgerissen wird, verweilte sie auf dem wippenden Grashalm.
Direct view on the dragonfly. The black stripe on the abdomen can give information if this could be a subspecies if the stripe is missing.
Direkte Ansicht auf die Libelle. Der Schwarze Streifen auf dem Hinterleib kann Aufschluss darüber geben, ob es sich hierbei um eine Unterart handeln könnte, wenn der Streifen fehlt.
