Cool mornings with dew, fog, yellowing leaves, the smell of the rain in the air and blooming heather. Sounds like a perfect match to me and one of the nicest things about autumn. White the days can be still warm, you can feel the change in the air.
The place that is covered in yellow blooming Ulex in spring turns to a lilac field in the fall. An it i absolutely stunning!
The bushes grow quite large here as they are left alone and nobody trims them. Many of the die in the way and even the ones that are still alive look quite empty inside with plenty if little sticks and leaves dead.
But even then they still look nice when they start to bloom. Milion of light purple little flowers.
They look especially nie with all the dry bushes and summer flowers around. A patch of colour.
All the green needles around that you can see on some of the photo is Ulex - vicious, but gorgeous looking shrub.
I have seen then blooming on multiple occasions. On warmer and sunny days there is still plenty of insects around feeing on the nectar.
Few of the unlucky ones. It is still the same spot and the rusty bushes are next to the blooming ones. They will slowly break an decompose. With some luck the bottom of the plant is still alive an might shoot some fresh growth.
The contrast between the two is quite nice an I could not resist shooting some of them too.
The heather ghosts...

Beautiful pictures!
Your photos show that you had a great walk!
I love every season, but autumn has a special place for me. Because my dear plants prepare for winter and leave themselves under the ground to be reborn in the spring.
I just don't like summer :P
This is a very unexpected statement. This can rarely be heard.
Springautumnlish vibe...
Never spotted it around here, I would remember those bells indeed.
Actually.... I don't recall seeing them in Poland either. Just the small one that grows close to the ground like a small bush. Here they grow gigantic!
I would have this one in my garden, as a regular, bring the seeds!
I guess it's not winter yet in your area. The little trees look so alive. Snow has already fallen in many provinces of Turkey. The photo is very good quality. Thank you for presenting these beauties to us.
Almost. But we don't get snow around here. Just lots of rain.
I envy you the snow... would be nice to have some here too :)
I guess you live in a tropical climate zone 🙂 🙂 .
Since you don't see much snow, it's natural that you like it 🙂

Hola! las imagenes están increíbles, las flores me parecen súper lindas, verlas me recordó a la lavanda ya que son algo parecidas.
Saludos.
Thank you! they are about the same size. They don't smell that nice though :p
I love heather 😊😎 so pretty in colder times. They brighten up an area for sure.
Thanks for sharing.
Great captures @ewkaw 👋🏻 Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Me too! Do you also have that superstition that it brings bad luck (or something like that), so you shouldn't have it at home in a bouquet?
Nope, luckily I don’t have a lot of superstitions. Didn’t know about it either. 😊😎
I don’t pick wildflowers anyways. As they should remain wild… and outside 😉
Great fun with Depth of Field and Focus
... and some cool shots, too!
Thanks!
DOF is one of my fav things :)
DoF is my favorite, too...
... no wait. Money is.
No, sex. Sex is first favorite, then money. THEN DoF!
but, admittedly, it's up there among the tops.
😂😂
There is also pizza an booze.
Sorry DoF...
oh, slips a few more spots, but still top 10!
How are you dear friend @ewkaw good day
I feel pleasure visiting your blog, you always surprise us with beautiful wild plants, I love these purple flowers, a bit of color and a contrast to the yellowness of autumn

I love to alternate "Winter & Summer" flowering heathers in my garden borders. Doing this gives some different colours all year! Lovely photos 👏

They must look really nice in a garden. For some reason my mum never had any in hers.
I can see 4 Heathers through my back garden window, as I sit here typing.
Really beautiful colours.
