This is the beautiful Oyi river, located in the north central region of Nigeria.
I have been farming beside this river for the past 4 years, so I think I know something about its beauty and unique nature.
It is a quiet river on a good day, but my experience with this river,over the last four years has been somehow sweet-bitter. There has been times when I was so grateful to God for its presence beside my farm,for the fertility of its bank soil and for the readily available water it offers for my farming operations.
At other times however, I have regretted ever coming close to this river. There are days when I come to the farm, only to see half of my farm completely flooded with water.
The river often overflows it boundries, leaving its allotted place to come after my crops. You might want to ask me why I go that close to its banks, but I'll like to also tell you that I'm really not that close, something in the region of 100m away.
Weighing the pros and the cons, I come to conclude that water is beautiful, although it might also be powerful atimes. For the beauty and the power of this water body, I sincerely appreciate its Maker.
