Moringa or Drumstick Tree story

Today, my focus object is moringa. Plants that grow in the yard, which have a myriad of benefits.

Moring or merunggai is a type of plant from the Moringaceae tribe. This plant is known by other names such as: limaran, moringa, ben-oil, drumstick, horseradish tree, and malunggay in the Philippines.

For us, Moringa is a type of plant that can be used for vegetables. We often cook Moringa leaves as a side dish. Moringa leaves are small, oval-shaped and green.

Moringa can also survive longer, even though we cut down the large stalks. Usually from the cut, new, fresher branches will emerge. If the moringa trunk is too old, the plant will also secrete sap like a rubber tree.

In some places, Moringa leaves are not only used as a vegetable, but also made as a tea.

Moringa leaves or the drumstick tree are said to contain compounds that are antifungal, antiviral, antidepressant, and anti-inflammatory. Moringa is a plant from India, which is now commonly found in Africa, South America and Asia.
