Greetings to all. I hope you are well. Today I want to refer to my encounter with a small flock of sheep where there was a black sheep, black, with only the tip of its tail white. This is where I remember that reference is made to someone in the family who is different, as "the black sheep", because they are scarce in the flock. I was in an area of countryside where there are buffalo, horses and cows, which has its own natural beauty. When I looked at a flock of sheep, all white in color, but there is only one black sheep.

Hoy quiero hacer referencia a mi encuentro con un pequeño rebaño de ovejas donde había una de color negro, negro, con solo la punta de su cola de color blanco. Aqui es donde recuerdo que se hace referencia a alguien de la familia que es diferente, como "la oveja negra", porque éstas son escasas dentro del rebaño. Estaba en una zona de campo donde hay búfalos, caballos y vacas, que tiene su belleza propia por naturaleza. Al fijar la vista llaman mi atención una rebaño de ovejas, todas de color blanco, pero hay solo una de color negro.

There I asked myself, if it is as people in general say that black sheep are related to the negative and that led me to ask and research on the subject. It also helped me to meditate on the issue of whether it is so bad to be different from others. So extraordinary nature can give life lessons to those of us who enjoy it. I was captivated to see this little black sheep next to her white companions and close to her mother, grazing just like all of them. What is their difference?...only the color. According to the shepherds, their wool is not as commercial as that of the white sheep, although they used to use it to make some types of clothing. But although some see it as a disadvantage, they have their advantages in the flock.

Allí me pregunté, si será como dice la gente en general que relaciona a las ovejas negras con lo negativo y eso me llevo a preguntar e investigar sobre el tema. También me ayudó a meditar en el tema de si es tan malo ser diferentes de los demás. Así que la extraordinaria naturaleza nos puede dar lecciones de vida a los que disfrutamos de ella. Me cautivó ver esta ovejita negra al lado de sus compañeras de color blanco y cerca de su mamá, pastando al igual que todas. Cuál es su diferencia?.. solo el color. Según los pastores sus lanas no son tan comerciales como las de las ovejas blancas, aunque antes las usaban para hacer algunos tipos de vestidos. Pero aunque algunos la ven como una desventaja, tienen sus ventajas en el rebaño.

These black sheep can help protect the white sheep from diseases related to the nervous system. They have also found that having at least one black sheep in the flock protects them from lightning strikes right where they are grazing and killing some of the members. Anyway, it seems that this has been proven in some way by veterinarians who have observed them, and it is a piece of information that spares this extraordinary animal, the Creator's work, from harm. So this cute little sheep can be very useful to its owners. These owners are very happy with this new offspring and keep and take care of her just like the others. And since she is small, she always stays close to her mother, who is white, by the way.

Estas ovejas negras, pueden ayudar a las blancas a protegerse de enfermedades relacionadas con el sistema nervioso. También han visto que el tener al menos una oveja negra en el rebaño las protege de que rayos caigan justo donde están pastando y mueran algunas de las integrantes. En fin, parace que esto se ha comprobado de alguna manera por veterinarios que las han observado, y es una información que libra de perjuicios a este animal extraordinario, obra del Creador. Así que esta linda ovejita puede serle muy útil a quienes las crían. Estos dueños están contentos con esta nueva cría y la mantienen y cuidan igual que a las demás. Y ella como está pequeña, se mantiene siempre al lado o cerca de su mamá, que es blanca, por cierto.

Of course, there are several types of black sheep, and their meat is used for human consumption, and their wool is used to make carpets, capes and others. Besides, this kind of sheep are more productive and give better quality milk. Although I do not know much about this kind of animals, I can see that they do have their function in the animal world and that like the other white sheep they are necessary and are born with a purpose. There is also a great lesson to be learned for all human beings, that just because you are different does not mean that you cannot integrate and have your opinions heard. Many follow or copy what others do and sometimes they don't do well because of that, so being authentic helps to have your own conviction and keep your ideals in such a way that they become respected as those of any other person.

Por supuesto, hay varios tipos de ovejas negras, y que se usan sus carnes para consumo humano, además ,su lana sirve para fabricar alfombras, capas y otros. A parte que esta clase de ovejas son más productivas y dan mejor calidad de leche. Aunque yo no sé mucho de esta clase de animales, puedo ver que si tienen su función dentro del mundo animal y que al igual que las otras ovejas blancas son necesarias y nacen con un propósito. También de aquí se puede sacar una gran enseñanza para todos los seres humanos, de que el hecho de que seas diferente no significa que no te puedes integrar y que tus opiniones se escuchen. Muchos siguen o copian lo que otros hacen y a veces no les va bien por eso, así que ser auténtico ayuda a tener convicción propia y mantener tus ideales de tal manera que se hagan respetar como los de cualquier otra persona.

I had a classmate who considered herself the "black sheep of the family," but in the end she proved that she was just different, but important. She was one of the smartest students in the classroom and graduated with honors for her excellent performance. Some of us didn't understand the way she studied or how she did some of her work, because in everything she made a difference, but that made her achieve her goals in life. Therefore, we should not use the comparison of "the black sheep" with family members, because this can influence their self-esteem and performance in life. We should see everyone as unique beings who follow a different life pattern than ours, but who are valuable and necessary in society.

Yo tenía una compañera de clases que ella misma se consideraba "la oveja negra de la familia", pero al final dió pruebas de que solo era diferente, pero importante. Era una de las estudiantes más inteligentes del salón de clases y se graduó con honores por su excelente desempeño. Algunos no entendíamos su forma de estudiar o de hacer algunos trabajos, pues en todo marcaba la diferencia, pero eso la hizo alcanzar sus metas en la vida. Por eso, no debemos usar la comparación de "la oveja negra" con mienbros de la familia, porque esto puede influir en su autoestima y desempeño en la vida. Debemos ver a todos como seres únicos y que siguen un patrón de vida diferente al nuestro, pero que son valiosos y necesarios en la sociedad.

At the time, I was able to take pictures of this little sheep that only its color and difference with respect to the others, motivated my research on them. It is interesting to see how diversity in the extraordinary nature can teach us so much about its purpose and even in our way of seeing others. The photos are my own.
