When I went to the forest to look for some unique insect species, I found the "gapah lhan" plant that the Acehnese call it. Or scientifically called chromolaena odorata.

Chromolaena odorata is a species of tropical and subtropical flowering shrub in the sunflower family. Originating from America, then expanded far to other areas even to Indonesia (Asia).

Especially in Aceh, Indonesia this plant has been known since ancient times as a medicinal plant.

Most of the people living in villages in Aceh believe that the chromolaena odorata plant can treat wounds and can help heal several other ailments.

That's why not infrequently when I was a child, a parent who found his child was cut by a knife or there was a knee wound due to falling from a bicycle, so as the first alternative they took a few chromolaena odorata leaves and chewed them, there are some who smooth them by pounding them on "capah" which is a special tool for crushing food spices such as turmeric.

After the chromolaena odorata leaves are crushed, then they are applied to the wound. Its properties are believed to accelerate wound healing.

Not only that, the chromolaena odorata plant also has beautiful flowers, I have uploaded them below. Let's take a look!

Not long after I found this plant, I saw a spider that was in its trap nest. I immediately took a picture using my smartphone + macrolens camera.
