Olá Splinters, bem vindos novamente!

Chegamos em mais uma semana para compartilhar nossas batalhas com a carta escolhida, nunca me canso de dizer o quanto esse momento é importante para a comunidade e assim podemos somar conhecimento sobre um determinado monstro. Cada jogador tem uma forma de ver as qualidades, fraquezas e melhores situações para um monstro ter um melhor desempenho, esse é um grande momento em nossa semana para adquirir mais conhecimento em Splinterlands!

Chegou o a hora de falar sobre o monstro HILL GIANT!

Esse monstro comum pertence ao elemento terra, possui ataque melee e custa apenas 3 de mana para ser escalado. Apesar de ser um monstro simples pode desempenhar ótimo papel em ocasiões certas, vamos conferir?

Na minha opinião esse é um monstro muito útil quando precisamos de um monstro que possa segurar alguns ataques em partidas de pouca mana devido sua boa quantidade de vida. Logo em seu primeiro nível ele já possui 6 de vida que é uma quantidade muito boa para a quantidade de mana exigida para ele estar em campo. Sua pouca velocidade é o principal ponto fraco pois fica mais difícil acertas monstros mais rápidos.

Quando alcança níveis maiores, HILL GIANT se mostra mais eficaz pois atributos são somados, eu gosto de usa-lo no level 4 pois possui 2 de ataque e velocidade e também 7 de vida, mas é quando alcança o level 6 que ele adquire sua única habilidade: Stun

Stun
Quando um Monstro com Atordoamento atinge um alvo, ele tem 50% de chance de atordoar o alvo fazendo com que ele pule seu próximo turno.

Mas é claro que no elemento terra temos outros tanks com mais presença em campo, HILL GIANT se sairá melhor em partidas de pouca mana e também em algumas regras de batalha específicas, vamos conferir algumas delas a seguir:

LITTLE LEAGUE
Apenas Monstros e Invocadores que custem 4 Mana ou menos podem ser usados ​​em batalhas. Já que HILL GIANT possui apenas 3 de mana para ser escalado ele se encaixa muito bem nessa restrição. Um monstro para aguentar alguns ataques que custe tão pouco não é tão fácil de se encontrado!
REVERSE SPEED
Monstros com a menor velocidade atacam primeiro e têm a maior chance de evitar ataques e como ele possui pouca velocidade essa é uma regra excelente para explorar sua lentidão. Dessa forma ele será um dos primeiros a atacar e ainda existe a possibilidade de desviar de alguns ataques ranged e melee.
SUPER SNEAK
Todos os monstros de ataque corpo a corpo têm a habilidade Sneak. Essa é uma excelente oportunidade para usar HILL GIANT principalmente se uma partida limitada em mana, ele poderá atacar mesmo estando na linha de trás. Essa utilidade também serve para a regra de batalha Equal Opportunity.
ODD ONES OUT
Apenas Monstros com custos de Mana ímpares podem ser usados ​​em batalhas e se isso for associado a uma partida com pouca mana esse monstro também pode se tornar uma boa opção, principalmente se levarmos em consideração que monstros para serem tanks no elemento terra com mana ímpar não são muitos, ou pelo menos os principais possuem mana par.

Claro que isso não é um indicação de investimento, cada um deve vestir suas calças de adulto e fazer sua própria análise.

Com menos de $0,04 centavos um HILL GIANT na versão regular pode ser adquirido no mercado nesse momento e em sua versão Gold $0,62 é o preço mais baixo.

Eu já vi alguns vídeos antigos de jogadores comprando cartas no mercado e sempre me surpreende o quanto que algumas delas cobiçadas hoje estão valendo tão alto (mesmo nesse momento de baixa) e me pergunto se não estou vivendo um outro momento de oportunidades, só o tempo dirá.

Conclusões Finais:

Como deu pra perceber HILL GIANT é um monstro que considero bom levando em consideração que vamos jogar em partidas de pouca mana, ele será um saco de pancada mas enquanto aguenta alguns ataques permite que o resto da equipe faça sua função e eu vejo muito valor nisso.

Não acredito que exista alguma carta ruim em Splinterlands que não possa ser usada em algum momento e desempenhar um grande papel ou até mesmo desiquilibrar uma partida a nosso favor, cada monstro tem sua importância e nós precisamos apenas enxergar isso no momento certo.

Broken Arrows

Para essa batalha temos uma quantidade de 19 de mana para escolher nossos monstros, uma quantidade bem limitada mas perfeita para ter HILL GIANT como nosso tank principal. A regra de batalha para essa partida não afetara muito minha estratégia pois não pretendia escolher monstros de ataque ranged.

Para essa partida eu escolhi a summoner Obsidian e seu poder em potencializar os ataques mágicos, meu oponente decidiu ir com um summoner que diminui ataque melee, isso não me causará grandes efeitos já que escolhi apenas o tank com esse tipo de ataque porém ele não foi escalado com a intenção de tirar danos mas sim de aguentar o mais tempo possível em campo.

Minha escalação para essa partida ficou da seguinte forma:

CardObjective
Nossa estrela da noite foi escalado para ficar o máximo de tempo possível em campo, sua alta quantidade vida é propício para esse fim. Quanto mais tempo em campo, melhor os outros monstros do meu lado de campo se sairá bem.
Escolhido por não ter gasto com mana e tampar o buraco. Poderá obrigar meu adversário desperdiçar algum ataque para tirar de cena.
Escolhida para dar proteção extra ao meus monstros em campo com escudos extras.
Escolhido por possuir um bom ataque mágico, boa velocidade e a habilidade Flying que pode proporcionar algumas esquivas.
Com um bom poder de fogo e baixo custo esse monstro terá um papel fundamental para essa partida!

Round 1

Meu adversário escolheu monstros com a habilidade Opportunity para os monstros da linha de trás, uma boa estratégia para ir eliminando meus monstros com menos vida em campo, também deixou um bom tank que absorveria a maioria dos ataques.


Round 2

A escolhi que eu fiz em ter mais proteção com escudos se mostrou importante para essa partida, meu oponente foi obrigado a desperdiçar alguns ataques para conseguir atacar a vida dos monstros. As coisas estão começando a se definir por aqui.


Round Final

A minha principal barreira para conseguir essa vitória seria destruir o tank adversário e depois que isso foi feito seria fácil passar por cima dos outros monstros já que eles possuiam pouca vida.

Escudo e monstros para distrair o adversário foram bons fatores de defesa e bastou apenas 3 rounds para que essa vitória chegasse até a mim!

Each player has a way of seeing the strengths, weaknesses and best situations for a monster to perform better, this is a great time in our week to gain more knowledge in Splinterlands!

It's time to talk about the monster HILL GIANT!

This common monster belongs to the earth element, has a melee attack and only costs 3 mana to scale. Despite being a simple monster, it can play a great role in certain occasions, let's check it out?

In my opinion this is a very useful monster when we need a monster that can hold some attacks in low mana matches due to its good amount of health. At his first level he already has 6 health which is a very good amount for the amount of mana required for him to be on the field. Its low speed is its main weak point as it makes it harder to hit faster monsters.

When it reaches higher levels, HILL GIANT proves to be more effective because attributes are added, I like to use it at level 4 because it has 2 attack and speed and also 7 health, but that's when it reaches level 6 that he acquires his only ability: Stun

Stun
When a Monster with Stun hits a target, it has a 50% chance to stun the target causing it to skip its next turn.

But of course, in the earth element we have other tanks with more presence on the field, HILL GIANT will do better in low mana games and also in some specific battle rules, let's check some of them below:

LITTLE LEAGUE
Only Monsters and Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less can be used in battles. Since HILL GIANT has only 3 mana to scale it fits this restriction very well. A monster to take a few attacks that cost so little is not so easy to find!
REVERSE SPEED
Monsters with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks and as it has low speed this is an excellent rule to exploit its slowness. That way he will be one of the first to attack and there is still the possibility to dodge some ranged and melee attacks.
SUPER SNEAK
All melee monsters have the Sneak ability. This is an excellent opportunity to use HILL GIANT especially if in a limited mana match, he can attack even though he's in the back row. This utility also serves the Equal Opportunity battle rule.
ODD ONES OUT
Only Monsters with odd Mana costs can be used in battles and if this is associated with a low mana match this monster can also become a good option, especially if we take into account that monsters to be tanked in the earth element with odd mana are not many, or at least the main ones have even mana.

HILL GIANT is a monster that will definitely come in handy at some point, it's indispensable for me to make it part of the collection. We are currently experiencing a downturn in the general market and this has also affected the price of cards in Splinterlands. I strongly believe that this is a great time to acquire some cards and HILL GIANT is very accessible for those looking to expand their collection or have more options at the time of battle.

Of course, this is not an investment statement, everyone should wear their adult pants and do their own analysis.

With less than $0.04 cents a HILL GIANT in the regular version can be purchased on the market right now and in its Gold version $0.62 is the lowest price.

I've seen some old videos of players buying cards in the market and it always surprises me how much some of the coveted cards are now worth so high (even in this low moment) and I wonder if I'm not living another moment of opportunity, just time will say.

Final Conclusions:

As you can see, HILL GIANT is a monster that I consider good considering that we are going to play in low mana games, it will be a punching bag but while it holds up some attacks it allows the rest of the team to do its job and I see a lot of value in that.

I don't believe there is any bad card in Splinterlands that can't be used at some point and play a big role or even unbalance a match in our favor, each monster has its importance and we just need to see it at the right time.

Broken Arrows

For this battle we have an amount of 19 mana to choose our monsters, a very limited amount but perfect to have HILL GIANT as our main tank. The battle rule for this game didn't affect my strategy much as I didn't intend to choose ranged attack monsters.

For this match I chose the summoner Obsidian and its power to enhance magic attacks, my opponent decided to go with a summoner that decreases melee attack, this will not cause me great effects since I chose only the tank with that type attack but it wasn't scaled with the intention of taking damage but rather to hold on as long as possible on the field.

My lineup for this match was as follows:

CardObjective
Our Evening Star was slated to stay in the field as long as possible, its high amount of life is conducive to this purpose. The longer on the field, the better the other monsters on my side of the field will do well.
Chosen for not having spent mana and plugging the hole. It can force my opponent to waste some attack to remove it from the scene.
Chosen to give my monsters extra protection on the field with extra shields.
Chosen for having a good magic attack, good speed and the Flying skill that can provide some dodges.
With good firepower and low cost, this monster will play a key role in this match!

Round 1

My opponent chose monsters with the ability Opportunity for the monsters in the back row, a good strategy to eliminate my monsters with less life on the field, also left a good tank that would absorb most attacks.


Round 2

The choice I made in having more protection with shields proved to be important for this match, my opponent was forced to waste some attacks in order to attack the monsters' health. Things are starting to settle down here.


Final Round

My main barrier to achieving this victory would be to destroy the opponent's tank and after that was done it would be easy to go over the other monsters since they had little health.

Shield and monsters to distract the opponent were good defense factors and it only took 3 rounds for this victory to come to me!
