RE: Biblioteca del Pioppo Pio (HiveBR Photo Contest)

Love that book case in the tree, I have myself seen quite a few in Nl and other countries. I think it is a great idea, it is also handy for the spies to pass on secret messages.

I went through a phase of using a kindle, downloading books from the piratebay saved me a fortune, But it lost its appeal and I returned to paper. There is something ,agical about opening a new book and sticking ya nose in and inhaling. Then page turning is a better experience than finger flicking IMHO.

Sadly the high streets do not have many independent sellers these days and I have to rely on the corporate waterstones or the supermarkets for my stuff. Oh! and I have a book case, I tend to only keep non fiction books there. The fiction usually goes to charity shops

We don't agree on this point 😀
Yes, from a nostalgic point of view a book is nice. You actually have something in your hands which is crafted and yours. You can view, touch, smell the book instead of a couple of just having a couple of bits and bytes.

But I like the ease of my Kobo. I can read everywhere. I can fit hundreds of books in my pocket which is very useful when you want to take a couple of books with you on holiday. I can read without glasses (👴), in low and bright light conditions because of the screen that can be lit or dimmed.

But again, I totally understand why people love to have a real book.
The same goes for physical (Christmas) cards when you compare them with a digital message.

I never send xmas cards LOL
Each to their own I guess, I understand the holiday thing, but I can get away with one stuffed in my rucksack to keep me going, guess the Kobo is a winner in low light...got me there 😂
