This insightful quote is from science fiction author William Gibson. He's referring to the fact that there's amazing technology that is futuristic in nature but only few have experienced it. AI, for example, has been around for a while in experimental form in various research laboratories but only until recently has entered the consumer market.
Robotics is another field that has been around the block but it's just now beginning to become more visible. I was at the Muji store when I came across this barista robotic arm making and serving coffee without human assistance. The whole scene had Blade Runner vibes and reminded me of that William Gibson quote. It seems the future is about to become a little more evenly distributed.
These fields of technology have been advancing by leaps and bounds, let's hope they are used well. Great photography!
