Today, 22. May, is the infamous #BitcoinPizzaDay! It is the anniversary of Laszlo Hanyecz's infamous purchase of a Pizza for 10,000 Bitcoins in May 2010.
Needless to say, this has become quite the meme due to Bitcoin's incredible rise in price since then, taking the price of that Pizza to roughly $400,000,000 had he HODLed them today. That said, it is also worth adding that without early pioneers like Laszlo, Bitcoin may have never reached today's price levels anyways. So calling it "a mistake" may not be correct. It should also be needless to say that I'm insisting on having Pizza today๐.
However, I prefer buying my Pizza with fiat shitcoins, and then share the experience and thoughts on Hive and it's various communities to earn crypto rather than spending it. Perhaps more crypto lovers should do the same?๐

Very interesting I did not know that this episode was real, I always thought it was a myth and clearly it is better to buy pizza with fiat money and not with Cryptocurrencies. I will write down this date May 22 so as not to forget it and always remember it. The impressive thing is how quickly time passes, it is already 11 years and friend Laszlo who will think of that purchase right now.

I went and bought BTC but didnt get pizza, I am seriously thinking this could be the first national holiday dedicated to Bitcoin. I am basically living with regrets now because I didn't eat pizza. It must be how a Pastafarian feels when they don't have their strainer!
