Art Talk: Paintbrushes

in Art Talk2 years ago

For 6 months I have been going to the Desert Botanical Garden regularly. Now I want to share pictures of pieces in Chihuly in the Desert that I have taken at different times of day, through different seasons and light.

What I find very interesting is that it says Paintbrushes, 2021 on the plaque in front of the sculpture. I also saw Paintbrushes at the Kew Gardens in 2019. I have wondered and many of the people that I took to the garden asked me about what happens to the pieces after the show? I don't know. It would seem that he remade the Paintbrushes for this exhibition.

These were a bit hard to photograph. They were placed in a semi enclosed place and in different sections within this space.

I did get some good light a few times!

This one is wonderful. It shows the glass and the desert environment so beautifully together.

I really like that Chihuly is innovative, like with Sonoran Neon and yet uses the same idea if it will suit the place he is showing it.

Those are neat. They remind me of some firey looking tulips I saw once. They're the same colors. So these are re-made for different shows and not just transported around to different locations?

That is my conclusion that it must have been remade, or it would have said 2018, for the 2019 show? The Opal and Amber tower is a 2018 piece and Sol del Citron 2014.

Yes, maybe like this tulip.

Yeah that could be.

That tulips is close but this is actually the one that I was thinking. The colors are spot on at least.
