It took us a minute, but we finally found it. The legacy that we ushered in as a generation; and that legacy is Decentralization.
The 2020s so far have revealed the dangers of Centralized dominance. Social media platforms banning its users, stock exchanges disabling trading activities, skeptic of the voting system (applies to any country).
Seen Social Dilemma? Scary stuff. Makes you feel like you can't escape. But, fortunately for us, and the generations to come, a hero has appeared to save us.
Decentralization.
- Decentralized Money (Bitcoin)
- Decentralized Lending, borrowing, and insurance
- Decentralized Social Media
- Decentralized Governance
- Decentralized Internet
Decentralization and smart contracts will change the ways people are paid, how people transact among one another, and adds new features to the concept of money that just have never been thought of before. While ideas like democracy have been in existence for centuries, none of the past generations have had the power of the internet. If any generation is equipped to implement democratic ideas efficiently, then it's Gen Y.
Millennials are definitely late bloomers, but at the end, they've shown that they can rise to the occasion of Changing the World when it needed to be saved.
