Mi opinión de los Oscars

Hola, el día de hoy quise participar en esta iniciativa de @digitalspace, sobre los premios de la academia realizados el domingo 27 de marzo por unos pequeños detalles que les iré revelando a lo largo de este post.

Lo primero que debo resaltar de la premiación es lo feliz que me sentí al ver que el actor Troy Kotsur se llevará el premio a mejor actor de reparto por su interpretación de Frank Rossi, esto debido a que pocas veces se reconoce la participación de actores con discapacidad auditiva, siendo Troy el primer actor con dicha discapacidad en recibir la preciada estatuilla. En lo personal amo el trabajo que viene realizando la actriz Marlee Matlin, que desde hace unos años he visto en diversas series y a quien ame en su interpretación de Jody en la serie "the L word".

Hi, today I wanted to participate in this initiative of @digitalspace, about the Academy Awards held on Sunday March 27th for a few small details that I will reveal throughout this post.

The first thing I must highlight about the awards is how happy I was to see that the actor Troy Kotsur will win the award for best supporting actor for his portrayal of Frank Rossi, this because rarely the participation of actors with hearing disabilities is recognized, Troy being the first actor with such disability to receive the precious statuette. Personally, I love the work being done by actress Marlee Matlin, who I have seen for years in various series and who I loved in her portrayal of Jody in the series "the L word".

Obviamente ame que la película CODA, misma que nos narra la difícil decisión de Ruby, quién es el único miembro con capacidad auditiva en una familia que no posee este sentido, entre seguir su sueño de asistir al Berklee College of Music de Boston y la de abandonar a sus padres, a quienes ayuda en todos los sentidos de la vida, se llevará el galardón a mejor película, esto no lo cambiaría, aunque debo reconocer que Belfast también me gustó mucho.

Segundo, debo decir que esperaba oír la canción "No se habla de Bruno", de la película encantó, en vez de la de "dos oruguitas". Y si, ya se que los estudios Disney no enviaron esta canción por creer que no tendría la relevancia que alcanzó, pero habría amado que ocurriera y tenía que decirlo en este post.

Tercero, tengo que mencionar el hecho del mal rato que la actriz Kristen Dunst, esposa del nominado Jesse Plemons, vivió al ser llamada "llena asientos" y ser sacada de su silla por la comediante Amy Schumer, me parece ridículo que en el presente año se sigan permitiendo este tipo de bromas, lo que nos lleva al altercado que se llevó los memes de la noche, lo ocurrido entre Will Smith y Criss Rock.

Second, I must say that I was expecting to hear the song "No se habla de Bruno", from the movie I loved, instead of the one about "two little caterpillars". And yes, I know Disney Studios didn't send this song because they didn't think it would have the relevance it did, but I would have loved for it to happen and I had to say it in this post.

Third, I have to mention the fact that actress Kristen Dunst, wife of nominee Jesse Plemons, had a hard time being called "full of seats" and being pulled out of her chair by comedian Amy Schumer, I find it ridiculous that in this year this kind of jokes are still allowed, which brings us to the altercation that took the memes of the night, what happened between Will Smith and Criss Rock.

Desde mi opinión, ningún tipo de violencia será aclamada, ni la física ni la verbal. Siento que se tocó un tema muy delicado para la también actriz Jada Pinkett, y eso se pudo apreciar en la tensión expresada en su rostro, ante lo que su esposo reacciona expresando violencia física. Debido a este altercado creo que los premios de la academia van a limitar los números "graciosos", siento mucha pena pues el comediante Criss Rock va a ser crucificado por mucho tiempo por un chiste, que pienso estaba preescrito. No creo que la academia deje en manos del azar algo en una noche tan importante y me llegó a cuestionar si toda la situación estaba preescrita para generar impacto ante una premiación que en los últimos años ha ido perdiendo atención del público.

In my opinion, no type of violence will be acclaimed, neither physical nor verbal. I feel that it was a very sensitive topic for the actress Jada Pinkett, and that could be seen in the tension expressed in her face, to which her husband reacts by expressing physical violence. Because of this altercation I think the academy awards are going to limit the "funny" numbers, I feel very sorry because the comedian Criss Rock is going to be crucified for a long time for a joke, which I think was pre-written. I don't believe that the academy would leave something in the hands of chance on such an important night and I even questioned if the whole situation was pre-scripted to generate impact in an award show that in the last years has been losing public attention.

Pienso que, de haber sido algo espontáneo lo sucedido, el actor Will Smith debió expresar su descontento al finalizar la programación, capaz en su discurso de aceptación, y no manchar su trayectoria actoral con algo como lo sucedido.

Creo que la reacción de Criss Rock fue la adecuada, pero cometió el error de insistir en su broma, cosa que personalmente condeno, cuando debió guardar silencio, en general, la producción debió haber reaccionado de una mejor manera para poder limar asperezas entre ambos asistentes y así restar atención al asunto, lo cual me hace dudar de la veracidad, pero ya esto lo exprese antes.

I think that, if it had been something spontaneous what happened, the actor Will Smith should have expressed his dissatisfaction at the end of the program, maybe in his acceptance speech, and not tarnish his acting career with something like what happened.

I think Criss Rock's reaction was appropriate, but he made the mistake of insisting on his joke, which I personally condemn, when he should have kept silent, in general, the production should have reacted in a better way to smooth out the differences between both attendees and thus reduce the attention to the matter, which makes me doubt the veracity, but I have already expressed this before.
