My 2025 Goals Recap and Plans for 2026...

in Reflections3 days ago

A lot of things happened in 2025... my family and I had both ups and downs, with the biggest change being moving to the countryside. Our previous house was flooded, but we got a lot of support from family and friends. And now, we're able to spend the first day of 2026 in the new place... and we're loving every bit of it.

It was drizzling, rainy even, this morning... but as you can see, the day became fairer and brighter. It was a lovely first day of the year. We also had quite a productive day since we started working on our garden, though it's still 10% complete. haha

Anyway, so much for that, I want to do a recap of my goals last year and see which ones I could achieve, and which ones I couldn't.

I made this drawing for this post last year, and I'm glad I did. It's much easier to track whether I could achieve my goals or not.

Japanese Studies:

I could only keep at it for several months. I tried to study even just for 15 minutes every day. I wasn't consistent, though. One reason is that I got sidetracked with learning Spanish and Portuguese. hahaha So my mind got crazy with the thought of learning three languages at the same time and it short-circuited. HAHA

So this year, I'll try to focus on just Japanese. It's useful at work since the majority of my students are Japanese. Once my language skill is decent (including Kanji --- good luck to me!), I'll get back to learning other languages.

This goal is among the things I could achieve. Although I lost a lot of my art work to the flood, but I could keep the memories of creating them through HIVE. I also started digital drawing, and even purchased a tablet last October to practice more easily as I was just using my phone.

This year, I still want to make this a goal. In our new place, we have an extra room, so once I save enough money, I'm going to make it my office and art studio. I'll take time, but fixing this extra room (which we're temporarily using as a storage) is among my goals for this year. My target is by mid this year or so because I still have to do stuff for my room first. I don't have a bed, yet... and sleeping on the floor isn't very good for my health. I used to sleep on the floor before I had a loft bed made, and I sometimes have asthma attack. So yeah, my bed and fixing my room comes first before the office and art studio. :)

Exercise and Maintaining Work Rating :)

Thanks to my students'kind comments and ratings, I could keep my rating the whole year. Their comments and positive messages regarding my classes keep me motivated to work. So, I'll keep at it even this year.

As for exercise, it may not be consistent, but I could exercise more last year than the previous years. Now that we're in the countryside, it's more interesting to go for walks... and in addition to that, working in the garden will be a great way to sweat. I'll keep at it this year, too.

HIVE goals...

$1

When I set my goal last year, I was on a power down... and I did mid last year as well. However, I decided to grow my account as much as possible. My original goal was to reach 2500 HP by the end of last year, but I actually reached 3000 HP a few days before the year ended. I'll keep at it this year, too! If I were to put a number, I hope to reach 5000 HP by the end of this year.

Another HIVE goal I had was to engage more... and I must say, I have achieved that. I met new friends and I even started doing anime drawing collaboration with a new friend from the opposite side of the world. And we're going to keep doing art collaborations this year, too! <3

I'll keep the engagement going, and I'm going to check more communities. I'm positive that I'll frequent some photography communities this year especially because we finally moved to the countryside, and there are a lot of interesting subjects to take photos of. <3

That's another goal for this year, too! I want to improve my photography... I'm only using my mobile phone for now, but I want to get a better camera. For now, I'll hone my skills to take better photos. <3

Family and Friends TIME!

$1

I could spend time with my special people last year... but I still declined a few invitations by friends. I don't know why it's so difficult for me to accept an invitation. Maybe I just don't like going out, or I don't like it when I'm invited in big events or celebrations. T_T I feel sorry and guilty, tbh.

However, I accepted my bestie's invitation to go to Bohol with her and her hubby. I even hesitated when she first told me about the plan, but she said it would just be the three of us, and it's just a day trip. hahaha My bestie is great at convincing me to go out of my shell.

This year, I absolutely will spend time with the people dear to me... and I'll try to accept invitations more. (But I'm still not sure about it...) We'll see if I become more sociable this year in real life. I think it's one of the most difficult things to do for me. XD

My main goal this year is to recover from last year's events. I want to start over with my family... to stay healthy and to improve our life. I'll gradually find short-term goals along the way... Of course, I'll keep my previous goals last year. Despite achieving most of them, I want to make it a habit or something natural to do rather than a goal someday. :)

I'm looking forward to a much better year this time around!

Thanks for reading and see you next time! (^^,)/

Good luck with your goals to recover from the typhoon! Nag-a-allot talaga ako ng time kapag alam kong wala akong masusulat na blog for that specific day.
