Moving to a new city is very challenging, it's not a choice one should make in a hurry; well for me, I had just two weeks to report to work, else I might have to forfeit that centre and apply to another one. Well, I knew the rules, "a compulsory one year of housemanship (or internship)as part of requirements for completion of our training as newly inducted medics. So it was my choice after all.
Coming here and experiencing all the changes that comes with moving to a place you're not familiar with, and then learning to adapt really got me thinking about my choice of being here and other choices I've made in life; how they've influenced my person including my perception and general world view.

Choices

A very little, but powerful aspect of our lives. We spend every minute of our lives making choices. Even the kind of life we're living today is a consequence of the choices we made the previous days of our existence. And whether or not we like it, we're all making the choices that determine of our lives going forward.

Looking at my life right now, I can say for sure that the choices we make daily goes a long way to shape our lives, how the world sees us and how we perceive the world around us.
For me the choices I've made have gone a long way to determine my life and how I interact with my environment. I can say to a large extent that my previous choices have contributed majorly to what has brought me to the place I find myself right now. Whether I'm currently in a good position with regard to health, relationship, work life balance, and other personal beliefs, all of these have been influenced by the choices I've made.

We can argue that the environment has a lot of role to play in determining our lives and how we react to the world but I believe that we're rather reacting to the environment based on how we've chosen to perceive it. Our society today shows us a perfect example where two people born in the same place, under the same conditions or even raised up together by the same people, but they end up on an entirely different path in life, very opposed to the other with very sharp contrast. That's the power of choice.

Priorities

Our choices to a large extent shows what really matters to us. In a world where resources are scarce and the average man has to carefully share his limited resources to cover his basic needs, his insatiable desires and his desire for satisfaction and self expression, priorities comes into play; either because just as we said resources are limited or because satisfaction is what a man can hardly believe he has.
In life, priorities drives direction. If we chose knowledge over comfort, it reflects in our level of understanding and in the amount of growth seen in any pursuit we find ourself.
If we chose spending over saving or investing, it shows in our finances, if we chose to procrastinate daily, it shows in the amount of work left undone pilled up for us in the future.

Consequences

Every choice we make has consequence. Some pay off immediately while some pay off in the nearest future.
It's like saying you reap whatever you sow. You don't get to escape all of it. Your life, your health, our intellectual development, social status all have something to say about our previous choices.
And we should both as a people and as individual that desire maximum self expression in a way that is not detrimental or annihilation of our future existence make accurate choices that'll both help us live our lives to the fullest, and as well preserve it for the best of what tomorrow holds, but for us and for those around us.
