RE: The Truth Beneath All Lies

in Reflections2 years ago

While I think that indeed, the meaning of life is to discover who the "I" is within us, I also think that the reason that people believe in a higher being of some kind that plans it all, is that it is incomprehensible to imagine otherwise, to really accept randomness and especially, to feel what nothingness is. It is our own attachment to our current experience, which means that we can never put ourselves in the shoes of non-existence. No one can imagine not existing, as the act itself destroys the concept, making what we think to be true always an illusion.

We're all attached to this sensorial experience, yes. Since we all process reality through our bodies and senses, lacking either is impossible to imagine for us. It's interesting that you mention non-existence, as it's an essential formulation of mysticism when discussing the source of all things. While all of creation is something, that source is the only no-thing. Such a poor tool human language is to approach such matters, hahaha. Thanks for your comment!
