Atop the Pile

Here we are 2025

Where's my money?

We rang in the new year with my sister-in-law, her husband and their younger son, and it was a pretty chilled night. Rather than go to too much effort, we had hotdogs as the main meal, and then cheeses and some candy for dessert. Accompanied with some red wine and some sparkling wine too, since it was new year's eve. I think we all ate too much - which is par for the course over the last few weeks.

I think that we had a good time, but this is actually the first time outside of Christmas that they have spent an evening with us, which is likely down to my lack of Finnish ability. However, even with my shitty Finnish and their embarrassed English, we should have been able to get together more often than we have - in fourteen years of knowing each other. However, perhaps they will be more open to spending time together in the future.

Except we kicked their ass.

We played a music game that links to Spotify, and it was a lot of fun, but my wife and I took the championship 3 to 1. They were annoyed, because they are competitive and we are not, but they had only played it with Gen-Zers earlier.

And, we also did Tinanvalanta, which is a thing where you melt a small tin horseshoe and then throw it into water. The shape that comes out in the shadows is meant to predict what the next year is going to hold. We each did it and we had to do it on the fireplace, because the melting spoon doesn't work on an induction stove. It was a good laugh and some funny shapes came out.

Seems My wife on the right is going to have an old man propose to her with a flower, so I am guessing she is getting a sugar daddy. and my daughter on the right is going to turn into a mermaid.

Ooooh - and these two fellas became friends and spent much of the evening roughhousing, only having it get out of hand a couple times. They were pretty funny together, and Paavo (the brown one) wanted to play a lot and is super friendly, but Matti (the white) wasn't too keen to begin with, as he hates all dogs. But, after a bit he warmed up and they had fun too. Though, they were both very, very tired by the time the clock turned to a new year.

And, the entry picture is my shape, which I was told looked like a man sitting atop a pile of money. That crackly shape is meant to signify money, so I ask again 2025...

Where's my money?

Those look like some really good hotdogs. The kind that snap when you bite into them like we have over here. They call them Vienna style over here. It sounds like you had a really nice evening. My wife and I haven't done anything big for the new year in years. It was just the two of us tonight.

They were good hot dogs and I think they would be called Vienna, if they weren't in Finnish something else :D Just the two is good also. The last couple years it has been just the three of us, and while nice, I tihnk it was good to have a cousin here for Smallsteps to play with also.

Yeah, that makes sense. I don't mind having people over, but then you always have to worry about them making it home safely or vice versa and stuff like that. Sometimes it's nice to just take it easy.

Hopefully we get a blow off top altcoin bull market in 2025 and sell most of our liquid crypto and we all will be sitting on top of a pile of money :)

A blowoff top would be great, as long as I can catch the top just before the fall!

It is wonderful to know the new way to know whats coming....honestly never knew about it. I think 2024 u get rid of some debts....and 2025 the old man with be sitting on heave of money....Happy New Year - 2025...enjoy @tarazkp

I am not sure if they do a similar thing in other countries, but I assume it is an old pagan tradition or something like that. Happy New Year mate!

Hopefully the money will come rolling in this year, and then you can propose again and have a second wedding give your wife flowers and buy your daughter one of those mermaid tail things to go to swimming in XD

Are you calling me an old man!? ;D

A first wedding would be okay. We eloped as it was far cheaper :)

Absolutely XD

I call J an old man a lot too, I'm only a few years younger

I know someone who eloped off to Europe I think it was which might have been close to what they would have spent on a wedding but they were trying to avoid defective family members.

You should be happy to enter the new year with your spouse's family. This means that they love and respect you and your daughters.
Where is the money?
In a happy and peaceful family environment, in your circle of friends.

Not sure about the respect, but there is probably love :)

Happy New Year!

Where's my money?

Most of my money is in Hive as I have much less in the bank. This year I intend to buy more HBD so this situation will likely stay the same.

I am in the same boat :)

You had a priceless moment with your family which is lovely.
To answer your question, your money is in your hands.. but you will have to determine the outcome of it because you are sitting on it .it's either your stand up, work it out or you sit on it trying to find it all through the year without getting it.

I think it is more "future money" in the prediction :)

How come your Finnish is not fluent despite being there for years? Seems it is a difficult language to learn as Turkish :)
