A One Step Ahead: Leaving Marks of The Past

As the days goes by, a bit suffocating sometimes when reminiscing the part of your whole reason why you’re who you are today. Sometimes you changed for a good reason, a nice intention to live a better and free days knowing you can be better and better. Setting the goals up high, to a better future ahead but a bit of your reflection, a face of you who you can see and others, a reflection which not only the physical face but the sad reality that you’ll always bring and that is the past.

A bit bittersweet, sometimes it’s nice sometimes it hurts and cuts deep. You can always wonder “why are they defining me by the footsteps I’ve made that disappeared for me a long time ago?” A locked up soul that can voice out but couldn’t scream the anger and sadness. A bit annoyed, you’re seeking an explanation to save you from their perceptions on who you are, a powerless little soldier who can’t escape the opinions and stones that we’re thrown at him. A bit dragged down isn’t it? A sad reality of people who won’t define your new scales but keep on pointing out the skin that you shed, the marks on the sand that we’re washed out because of the waves but can’t ignore that the history will always say that “a person who did a mistake have been stepped here.”

The past mistakes, sadness, bitterness, and struggles can really define who you are. The sad truth of people who loves judging others rather than appreciating the strongest soldier who survives the battle of life, who survives and became the brand new person who chooses to be here today and keep on moving forward, not the person who keeps on making a mistakes and the darkest aura they’ve seen. Opinions matter but the options are easy, stop caring when you know yourself. People would still seek some holes to put out their bad intentions and opinions but you can cover it up by being confident, strong and stand up to your own changes with the face of proudness that “I am who I am” but doesn’t look down on people. A big step on the future by facing the better version of you, what make you happy is important and not stepping down on people.
