it took a while for her to understand that my parents ACTUALLY love her unconditionally and would more or less do anything for her.
Shared experience here. It's still hard for me to really 'believe' it, instinctively, but if your wife overcame that, I certainly will try too! It's reassuring to hear ^__^
You for sure will don't worry. It will take some time but eventually you will become comfortable with it. It's hard when you've been trained from a young age to react in a different way, or to be cautious, but eventually you will come around to it and realize that the way your new family treats you is totally normal.
