What is your deepest answer to the question "Why are you here?"

Why are you here.jpg

Hey, Hivers. What's up? It's me makiyumee. How are your works or studies going? I hope you're still doing fine. Alright, today I'm going to be reflecting on a question that my teacher had asked us earlier during his class and this question is "Why are you here?"

We had just finished our first subject in the afternoon, and I was on my way to the restroom to take a leak and also to fix myself before my second class in the afternoon starts. When I'm done, I walked towards our classroom and sat on my seat while I waited for my next teacher along with my classmates.

It was already past 4 pm when our second teacher for the afternoon came and I tell you, he was a very odd teacher in a good way. He was strict and he has his own rules and regulations but despite this, he still thinks about us and asks us if there were violent reactions coming from us unlike our other teachers who were not that flexible when it comes to rules or deadlines.

Our teacher would sometimes make jokes as he oriented us about the course that he was going to teach the next day. After he was done with his orientation, he told us that he didn't knew us yet and so he told us that we would be having a self-introduction but what he was looking for at the end was our deepest answer to the question "Why are you here?"

I didn't get the question at first. My thoughts went blank, as if I had erased the writing on the board. Despite my best efforts, I was unable to gather my thoughts, and it appeared as though my voice ceased to exist. I could only stand there, staring, in the hopes that something would finally click, as though I were in a dense fog and the solution was just out of grasp. Was it because I was still processing what I had learned from the class before? Was I finally feeling tired after a long day or was the question to hard for me to answer? I never knew why until my teacher called my name.

When my name was the first to be called in class, a wave of terror and tension crashed over me. My heart pounded in my chest, rushing as fast as a horse on a track, and my knees began to shake, just like my jaw that trembled wildly. It felt like the whole world had concentrated in on me, and every breath I took to calm myself seemed to be so loud inside the silent room full of anticipating eyes. I wasn't prepared and I didn't even know my deepest answer to the question! I was panicking until I found myself looking around at my classmates.

As I looked at them, each one had a different expression. Some seemed to be holding their laughs maybe because they found me standing and being the first one to be called hilarious or maybe it was to hide their nervousness because they also didn't know their deepest answer to the question. Some where just looking at me in anticipation while the others were looking but their minds were clearly not with me.

I took a deep breath to calm myself before saying beginning to introduce myself in front of the whole class. My classmates and I knew each other already after being together for 4 years but this introduction is done because our teacher didn't knew us yet.

After my introduction, it was finally time to tell everyone my answer to the question "Why are you here?" and as I thought of an answer, my mouth opened unconsciously and then later on I found myself answering the question without even thinking.

"I am here because maybe God has a reason why he placed me here. I'm not really into teaching but when I heard about the news that I passed the entrace exam of CNU, I thought that maybe God has a plan made for me but now is just the beginning of it. Soon, maybe later in my life, I will see and experience that plan of his…" I told my instructor and in an unexpected way, I saw how he gave me a satisfied smile which made me sigh in relief.

It looks like that was the answer that my instructor was looking from me and maybe that was also my deepest answer to the question without me even realizing that it was. Later on, our instructor gave us an explanation for the question he presented to us: "Why are you here?" It was not merely a straightforward question, but rather an important reminder of our purpose—the reason we are here, the reason we never give up, and the motivation behind every day that comes. He wished for us to never forget the deeper meanings behind everything we do, the targets that motivate us to wake up in the morning, and the dreams that inspire us on the journey we take.

Reminding us of our "why" stimulates a fire within of us. This feeling of purpose serves as our guide through life's hurricanes, providing us with the endurance to face challenges and the bravery to pursue our goals no matter how unattainable they may appear. This profound awareness of our purpose gives us the will to go past our comfort zones, keep going when things get difficult, and accomplish goals we once believed were unachievable.

The advice from our instructor served as a gentle reminder to never lose sight of our "why". Because knowing our purpose gives us the ability to make our dreams come true.

Now that we have reached the end, I want to ask you if you also have your own deep answer to the question "Why are you here?" It doesn't need to be long. I can't wait to read your answers on the comment section. That's it for today, see you all on my next blog!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!.gif

What a deep question! I, myself, have been looking for answers to that same question, too, since ages ago. And I tell you, it's a different answer everytime. Nonetheless, I believe the main reason I'm here is simply to be here: to live life, enjoy it to the fullest, and to spread kindness. I also believe that our specific passions in life are the reason we were put here. That burning desire in our hearts? I guess that's what we're meant to do! 🔥

That's true too! We all have our roles to fulfill and dreams to achieve and maybe that's another reason why we are here😁🥰
