The cycle of life is unpredictable. In fact life is a delicate balance between highs and lows. As the old saying goes, "there are two sides to every coin." Life is like a coin, with joy and sorrow on either side.
Life doesn't always serve us chocolates. Sometimes it hands us Kimchi too
Life can be as unpredictable as a roller coaster, taking us from the euphoric highs of good news to the jarring lows of disappointment and sorrow.
My family and I experienced life's bittersweet moments the previous week. There was the joy of bringing forth a new life and the sorrow of a losing another life.
We welcomed a precious addition to the family - a vibrant baby boy. Bouncing baby boy (BBB) like we call it here, hehehe. Upon receiving the good news, I heaved a sigh of relief that at last, it ended in praise. I was so overwhelmed by the thrilling news that I couldn't hold back the tears of joy that followed it.
My cousin-in-law's pregnancy was fraught with life-threatening complications, necessitating frequent hospitalizations. Despite the worries, anxieties and uncertainties, faith and medical guidance prevailed.
Thankfully, mother and child thrived through a successful or rather miraculous delivery, testament to God's unwavering faithfulness.
But then, our joy was short lived as there was a turn of event. A precious little soul was taken away from us. Another bundle of joy which my family was anticipating to welcome.
My brother's wife who was almost completing her first trimester suffered an unfortunate fate. She noticed little droppings in the wee hours of Thursday morning, padded up and kept wait for dawn so she can go to the hospital. But as the flow increased, the husband, with the help of one of their neighbors rushed her to the hospital.
Upon receiving the news, I hurried down to the hospital. The matron was already on top of the situation, in wait for the doctor"s arrival. The doctor came, and after examining her said she suffered an incomplete miscarriage, and would undergo evacuation. Not only that the flow was much and would need transfusion. Fortunately, one of my brothers- in-law's group matched with hers so he offered to donate and that was taken care of.
The pain and sorrow of the loss so overwhelmed her that she almost refused to be consoled. It was heart wrenching seeing her groan and moan in grief.
Despite overwhelming emotions, I mustered strength to support her. My brother's loving care eased her hospital stay. Although he was heartbroken but he prioritized his wife's well-being, He was always around, doting on her, never allowing her feel a moment of sadness.
As a family, we rallied round them, offering support the best way we can. It was a difficult time but being surrounded by love and support made all the difference.
That's the power of family. Even in difficult times, the bonds of love and support can bring family closer together. In the end, the memories and experiences shared are what matter most.
While still at the hospital, I received another news, a heart warming one this time around. Timmy, my adopted pet whelped her litters.
During my previous visit, I noticed the dog appeared swollen, lethargic and unusually clingy, indicating her whelping time was imminent. And she did it, three puppies in total!
And now I'm a grandma 😂. What a fracking awesome news!
My jubilation was infectious, bringing amusement to my sister in law and those around me. I was glad my excitement brought her some cheer.
Thankfully, she's out of the hospital and on the road to recovery which I'm hopeful won't be so long.
Ruminating on these occurrences - the birth of my second cousin, the miscarriage and of course, the puppies reminded me that life is precious and fleeting, and that one should cherish every moment with the ones they love. Also that even in the darkest moments, there is still beauty and goodness to be found. It equally portrayed the resilience of the human spirit and the power of love to heal and support.
This is a great lesson of life that will serve me well in the years to come. I hope it does same for you.
Still the #threadsaddict 😂

I agree with you. Life is a beautiful gift, as Ricardo Arjona says: "The gray clouds are also part of the landscape". And it is healthy to be able to find beauty and purpose even in difficult moments.
I love this. Sometimes I ponder how boring life would have been if it was a smooth ride. Challenging moments really do help us appreciate the beauty of good times.
Thanks for your insightful contribution
Life can be very unpredictable sometimes; one moment, we are happy, and the next moment, we may not.
Congratulations 🎉 on the new bundle of joy to your family.
May God strengthen your brother's wife and your entire family in such a difficult time as well.
And for being a new grandma 😊in town, I say congratulations 🎉 to you personally. May your puppy grow and multiply hehe.
Hmmm, just as life can make one bask in the euphoria of happiness, it can also leave one broken and shattered. But we still have to live it, hoping for the best.

Sure, it is.

This is a rollercoaster of emotions.
The death of a baby can be really painful. I wish your sister in-law quick recovery and twins to compensate.
