We are Made for Greatness

There's a movie that says, "Every child is special." I also believe in that line. Everyone is unique and incomparable from one another. There is a hidden talent and greatness that is store with in us. We just need to explore and discover it by ourselves.

I really wonder if the world is really passing? or it is just our time here on earth passed or timed out? I guess none of us can answer these question not justified his answers. Let us say that there is one person who can answer those questions. He must be a great man! Great in a sense that he has all the wisdom and experienced he went through to be able to know the answers of that questions. How will you define greatness? According to Meriam Webster Dictionary, it is the quality or state of being great (as in size, skill, achievement, or power). How great is the definition indeed! The definition itself makes you strive harder and you should smarter. If you want to live in this meaning, then you should pay the price. You should entail a lot of handwork, more time to consume and more effort to exert to make you consider to be an expert in one field or more.

In this standard of greatness only few and empowered individual can attain this type of greatness. To be great, some use their power and influence to harm other people. There are also other people took advantage of others because of their achievement and power. Some abuses their powers given to them also. It is really visible and rampant in our society today. It is sad that this type of greatness blinds us to see the deeper meaning of greatness.

By the way, what does greatness really mean in your personal point of view? Can you consider someone great if he forgets himself for the sake of other people? How about helping someone even if you are in dire of help also? Doing random act of kindness (RAK) to strangers? Is performing your job with all honesty, integrity, dedication and commitment is a sign of greatness too? When can we say that we are great? Where can we see great people?

For me, true greatness can be seen in simplicity where you can express your true and authentic selves. It is seen in humility where you can add meaning to other people lives without the CCTV cameras of today's click and post generation. It is seen in obedience where you can dedicate yourselves fully to God and abiding in His Divine will of your lives whether in marriage, religious and single blessedness life. It is seen not in your accumulated wealth and properties but in the number of people you have served and made them closer to God. If you have served a hundred people in your type of work genuinely, then you are truly great!

I remember my high school graduation mass song entitled "WE ARE MADE FOR SERVICE." I would love to share the few lyrics I remembered in this song. It goes like this:
We are made for service to care for all men.
We are made for love both time and again
A love that we live through sorrow and pain
A love that will never die in strain.

My favorite lines of the song that shows greatness also:
Life can be so lonely when nobody cares
Life can be so empty when nobody shares
But if man gives himself to help other men
The happiness of Christ will live with in.

For your greatness to be eternal, if you want to be great, then you must be the servant for all. It was a command given by the greatest man on earth, Jesus.
