Serenity of quiet time. It's beauty and indepth. Reflections and thoughtfulness. A therapy on it's own. You get to converse with you, countering yourself, analysing different sides of a situation and weighing options. The journey on self discovery, mind exploring. Finding solutions, innovation, new ideas.
Take a moment and picture a quiet time in a serene environment, shaded by strong healthy trees or just sitting by flowing waters in a cool breeze watching the sun set or taking a walk in park enjoying the beautiful view. The bliss of the moment!
Quiet time helps find different things we didn't know exist.
The most intriguing fact about quiet time for me is the indepth thought. Search every part of you and reflecting deeply.
One of my quiet evenings as I'm a lover of nature. I sat under a huge tree taking in the feel of the coo breeze and letting out the day's stress. I kept reflecting on the behavior of humans and why we act differently. What seems normal to one is abnormal to another. In the course of my reflection, I came to see every person is wired differently. Perceptions, values, morals and beliefs vary from person to person. You see a person acting out absurdly, to them it's a norm but to you it's bizarre and illogical. We're quick to judge when a person's action is against the way we feel it should. In my reflection, I felt it would be best if people who think alike find each other. It'll be much easier. There will be less fights in relationships if people of same school of thought found each other. I felt and believe a person's orientation is a leading factor in his makeup. Childhood background, environment we grew in, religion, local societal norms are part of this orientation. Often we're rootly fixated on the usual way of life that we don't care to evolve and explore. Some persons be so adamant and refuse to see the light when you try to enlightening them. In my reflection, I made peace that everyone sees what they want to see and it's pointless beating myself or getting worried and upset over a persons behavior.
Reflections has made me explore many parts of me. Made me realize it's okay to take a break and life is not always rosy. I have bad days which don't mean I'm less of a person or I'm not trying enough. I'll have good days too which I should give myself the flowers I deserve for being an amazing person. I should appreciate myself for my small winnings and not neglect them as insignificant.
Apart from self discovery, there're many benefits of quiet time.
Regular quiet time has been linked to increased gray matter in areas of the brain associated with attention, emotion regulation and empathy.
Emotional regulation: just like I stated above, I was having a bad day and was stressed. I kept thinking on why humans choose to act that way, I weighed lot of options till I was able to come to a self-satisfied conclusion. I made peace with the situation and my stress was gone. Not only have I handled the “human behavior” situation, I have a mindset that will brace me in future encounters. I'll see things differently and handle the situation better.
Productivity: Quiet time increases productivity by improving focus and concentration. It can help individuals complete tasks more efficiently and effectively. It could also help in finding new ways, re strategize and get back in track.
For physical health benefits, Quiet time can reduce blood pressure, increase sleep quality, boost immune system and reduce chronic pain.
Quiet time is powerful therapeutic tool for physical, emotional and mental well-being. By integrating quiet time into daily life, individuals can improve focus and concentration and foster creativity.
