Wise people said "Beware of wish fulfillment", what will you do when they come true

in Reflections3 days ago

I leave our apartment for work this morning, the first working day of the year...
And as I usually do, I turn the pages of the two "calendars" that are on the key cabinet next to the door.
It's actually not just calendars. Each of them is a book of quotations.

One is with quotes about sisters and the other with quotes from wise men.

Since now is the festive period, the one of the year, when we wish each other the most, the quote I see makes me think.

I could not find a source that this wisdom came from the pen of Ezop, so I will believe that it is 🙂
We would often regret it if our wishes came true

I ask myself: "What did I wish for myself, and what for others..."?

And what happens when those wishes come true?

I remember how my grandfather used to say: "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it".
Similar to Ezop, maybe a little more threatening 🙂

In my youth, I didn't think too much about that saying, until my partner repeated the same sentence a few years ago.
She wanted to work in tourism when she was young, she enrolled in that major at university and instead of enjoying her work, now she is constantly overwhelmed by the large amount of work.
She still loves that job in tourism, but it's not the kind of job she imagined when she wanted it.
"Who is to blame, I wanted to deal with it...".

Fuck it, so am I...
On a dark, cloudy morning, I go to work, which I wanted to have 🙂

Each of us constantly has some wishes.
What men wants, he sets himself as a goal and then over time tries to reach it, to make that wish come true.
And when he achieves it, a new one is born, often even more unattainable. And so on in a circle.
But that's how it should be, in life to fulfill wishes, because what is the life of a person who has no wishes reduced to...

The saying "A healthy person has a hundred wishes, but a sick person only one" is well known.

For this reason, I wish with all my heart, my dearest, closest people, as well as those with whom I am not completely close or whom I do not know well (but I am in contact during this period), first of all health and happiness, then love, joy and laughter .

Avoided some more specific wishes.
What do I know, if they come true, that I won't be held accountable for wishing them on someone.
Because what happens after, when they come true 🙂

Thanks 🙂

Such a profound reflection on the power of wishes and the reality of achieving them! It’s true that sometimes what we desire comes with unexpected challenges, but it also shapes us and teaches valuable lessons. Thank you for sharing these thoughtful insights
