People's opinions don't matter to me but data collection by governments and corporations shows that those opinions do matter to someone.
As for what I care about...being able to live with myself and sleep the sleep of the just:)

I read your post about the GovID thing, it's nuts really, that (here at least) nothing can be done without one. Yes, there's a couple things a person can do in person but it becomes so difficult that people do not and eventually it catches up and people just cave in. When it comes to pensions, aged care, medicare, seniors cards for health and transport, family assistance, etc. no MyGovID means hell on earth. Works out nicely for data collectors.

As for people's opinions, I have no problem with them having one but am very clear about the relevance of the options most have, which is to say no relevance. I'm not on social media but know enough to know people put a lot of importance on their opinion and the feelings of (whatever they think they gain) by voicing them when most of those opinions are not even the slightest bit important to anyone else. They should be more like you, put more stock on what's important to them rather than what other's think.
