The three hundred sixty-five days for the year 2023 had gone so fast. It spun by in the blink of an eye. It felt like I celebrated my new year for 2023 just a month ago. Now here we are welcoming 2024 with new hopes, new dreams, new episodes, and new goals in life.
My travel to Bacolod Island made me profoundly reflect on life. It's funny how gazing at the vast deep ocean for over two hours seemed to flash back all the good and bad things I have encountered and learned, the people I met, and all those little progress I have in life.
In my early twenties, I enjoyed life following my heart, and my desire, I was enjoying life to the fullest. No worries, no bills, no deadlines, just pure, unbridled fun. I thought that's life. I thought that's how life should be. Now when I remember it, I chuckled as I think of my immature young days. Hayyyyysss.
As the years passed, It's amazing how life changed and how I turned out to be a person with goals and a strong sense of direction. Well, perhaps it comes with age or experience. The past twelve months were full of lessons, wounds, and wisdom. I have a handful of takeaways to share.
πLive and work smart.
I have been continuously learning and relearning the art of working and living smart. I focus on efforts and work that is aligned with my goals. I have been selective to the people I open and surround myself with, and selective to issues and topics I engage with. When I started doing this, surprisingly I achieved a peaceful and humble life. What amazed me more was I was able to nourish my inner peace and my mental state.
I am proud and very surprised of my self that I can now set boundaries between work and life. I am ambitious and driven but I paired it with self-care and leisure to make things easier without compromising the quality of my output. I have made my work-life balance one of my priorities.
πPrioritize Mental, Emotional, and Physical Well-being.
Though I have been hiking for quite some time, 2023 made me fall in love even more with the outdoor activities such as exploring nature which involves hiking, trekking, and climbing.
I feel I am at my lightest and the brightest and in my best mood every time I engage myself in these hobbies. Before, when we had holidays or No classes, I only enjoyed myself staying at the house and watching TV or maybe a stroll in the market. But now, I couldn't keep my feet not to going and exploring the wonders of nature. This has been my therapy, my energizer, and my daily dose of fulfillment which has a profound effect that resonates on everything I do. I don't know how this happens, but I feel it that way.
πGrateful Heart
"If you are grateful for everything you have, then you have everything in life", a random quote I read on social media which says a lot about me.
When I started to be grateful and reflect on the positive aspects of life be it big or small, it's when I started to be thankful and felt blessed and focus on everything I have rather than what I lack. And I noticed that the more I am grateful, the more good things come in.
I was also able to embrace mindfulness. This made me stay in the present moment appreciating the experiences, the people, and the opportunities in my life.
Yes, I appreciate you. I appreciate your time reading and supporting my blog. My heart is happy.π
πSetting Goals
Believe it or not, Hive helped me build a hobby of setting a goal. I remember when during my first two months in the blockchain, I had that feeling of "one's way in the dark". I don't know where exactly to go! And I envy the users who have big accounts in Hive, I told myself, I wanna be like them or at least be close to them.
So that's the time, I started making and writing my goals. I set one big goal and I break it down into actionable steps. I regularly review and adjust my goals too.
"Begin with an end in mind", is a famous teaching principle I learned during my college days and I applied it in my life. What do I want to be? What do I want to achieve? From there, I set long-term goals and I hold on to them. I set the exact time and how many years I must achieve my goal. I was specific. Because of this, I was able to have a sense of purpose and direction in my personal and professional life and yes yes yes, my Hive Life.
Those are just a few of the many lessons there are to live within 2024 and in the coming years. π
Speaking of goals, let me share my Hive Goals with you for 2024. I aim to become a Dolphin on or before my 2nd Hive Anniversary on the 29th of May (fingers crossed). As of this writing, I am 1 year and seven months in Hive and I publish 2-3 blogs a week. To take action on my Goal, I started my year with a PowerUp of 17Hive to get 5,000HP as my start this year.
For my PowerUps last year 2023, I was surprised that I missed one Power Up. Huhu. I only Powered Up 11/12 last year. This year, I'll make sure not to miss a single power-up day (which Happens every 1st day of the month) and maybe increase the amount of my Power-ups as well.
2023 has blessed and given me more than I deserve and expected. For this 2024, I plan to grow more, and be more of myself.
Thank you so much for reading. I pray you a prosperous whole year! Keep safe!
Dont forget to smile often! ππ€π

I'm as "newbie" as they come and I didn't know about 1st-day-of-the-month power ups. Thanks, note taken.
I'm familiar with the quote, "Begin with the end in mind." It's a very powerful inspiration and action trigger. I've been inspired, thanks again.
