Every time we think of cryptocurrency wallets, even if we are not so devoted to technology, we automatically consider them to be something difficult to use. It can become complicated to set up our accounts, and even more so to use them. Over time, the developers behind blockchain technology have aimed to simplify the interaction that the end user experiences to facilitate the way he or she accesses the blockchain, and this has prompted the development of numerous wallets. So let's talk about leafwallet.
According to their website, Leafwallet is an EOS and BOS wallet that seeks to break the pattern by being a safe and very light wallet, giving you the ease of use every day without complications. Its asymmetric encryption system provides you with security in your personal data which prevents hackers from taking over your information, and at the same time it shows you alerts about applications that filter data so that you think twice before providing them with any kind of information.
When we enter the web portal leafwallet.io the first thing we'll see is the option to add the wallet to the browser as an extension, and I must confess that this was the first point in favor since in only one application (our web browser) we'll have access to our EOS account.
Once installed in our browser, and here I must make a stop because it only downloaded 2mb, we noticed it only took 5mb of space, thanks. This is another point in favor especially depending on the country you live, the Internet connections, or government restrictions that can complicate access to certain websites and make difficult the download hundreds of megabytes to obtain an EOS wallet.
Finally added to the browser, we will notice the Leaf shape icon in the toolbar. When we click on it, we will start configurating the wallet. Maybe you will get the language in Chinese, but you have an option to change it into English and we hope that in the future we will see the Spanish language. The process of importing accounts is quite simple and intuitive. It facilitates the configuration of the account in a few steps.
From this wallet you can transfer, visualize your resources and it has a dapps section that gives you quick access to them. The login when you enter a web dapp is quite fast; it almost immediately jumps to a wallet window with this option. This is a good point for the wallet as others may take a few seconds or show some lag while waiting for the window to appear, to confirm the login, or perform transactions.
Conclusion
The usage experience was quite good, some confirmation messages remain in Chinese, but these are small details. Sometimes at the first start or when minimizing and restoring the web browser window, the wallet may take a few seconds to run, but it is still less time than other wallets. Despite that small detail, the response time while using the dapps is instantaneous.
Another detail that we could notice is that the value of EOS token is reflected in Yuan; we hope that soon other currencies can be added.
It is convenient to have an extension in the browser that allows you to access the dapps without the need to have a second application running on your desktop. This often consumes resources that can be used in the web browsing experience.
If you are looking for a simple, super lightweight wallet that can be incorporated as an extension into your browser, leafwallet.io is for you.
