It's hard to know what to think about AI technology.
Obviously it's incredible and can do some absolutely amazing things... and I have absolutely no idea what the future holds for it.
Honestly, I wish committees would form to decide how we want mankind to be benefited by AI. I think it's a huge mistake to just let Google, Microsoft, Meta charge ahead with whatever products they think will make them the most money (like AI-generating the most persuasive and tailored advertisements ever) instead of deciding what big problems we need to solve and then rewarding corporations for solving those problems.
I think AI has both the power to help humans and complicate our lives endlessly.
I think it's very likely AI will be a huge distraction once AI companions come out... imagine having your best friend available to you 24/7 in your pocket.... or videos created perfectly for you. Sounds amazing but is obviously going to limit people's productivity.
