Nowadays Ecency is my favorite Hive app. I started using it years ago, when it was eSteem on the Steem blockchain, and it was also my favorite Steem app. I registered on the Steem blockchain on 2017.05.17 by registrating on Steemit. It was easy, and user-friendly.
At least this is how I see it.
I have not had any problems during the registration process, and my Steem account became approved very quickly. I heard from various people that the Steem registration process is/was difficult, complicated, and not user-friendly.
I was probably lucky/fortunate that it was easy for me. I hope that it is also easy for the new users nowadays.

This is helpful for new users. Do not worry. I do not downvote without reason. Actually nowadays I do not downvote anything. I downvoted a few spam comments in the past, but nowadays I do not see spam. People are writing normal comments. If they write comments at all. Finaly it seems he has stopped. Downvoting me because I said something im discord and than with a bot who follows everything I write was a crazy experience. But it was not that big amount and anyway it doesnt matter.
I myself never gave a downvote by now.
