A friend of mine visited Sri Lanka two weeks ago. When she was preparing to go there I asked her to bring me something specific from the country I have never visited before, because I really like to have something new and unique as well as to taste some new flavour from exotic countries. She chose to buy for me specific fruit called rambutan and the tea planted only there. It is a very tasty tropical fruit with a distinctive hairy exterior, it is a popular treat in Sri Lanka, where it's known for its sweet and juicy flesh, I tasted it and I was astonished but its taste. The fruit is originated in the Malayan archipelago and was brought to Sri Lanka by the Portuguese long time ago, and now you can usually find it in the area near Colombo the capital,in areas like Malwana and others.

It was transffered so many kilometres far away in the suitcase, so it is good that it was not spoiled, but I needed to use it as soon as possible. I am very grateful she brought it to me.I know it was not so easy for her.

She informed me that the fruit is typically in season during May, June, July, and August, so I caught the right season to taste it. Its look is very specific. At first I didn't know how to open it but she explained me, and I was surprised. The meat inside is white and is so delicious.
You suck it up nicely, and there is a big seed inside, I suppose it is very small part to be eaten but even though it is really tasty. If you dry it, you can remove from it if there is any remaining "meat" and plant fast in the ground. After it is removed from the fruit, you will have 10 to 15 days to use it, it loses its germination very quickly .It is a tropical fruit, so it also needs tropical conditions in the flat , especially during winter.
She brought to me also tea from Sri Lanka. It is unique tea, can be found only there.

She explained me to boil it and to drink it with sugar for better taste, I still didn't taste it but I am sure it will be .I found thet Watawala Tea is a well-known brand of tea in Sri Lanka, which is a major producer and exporter of tea in the world. I have heard Sri Lankan are well-known for tea production.
