Spain occupied the Philippines for 3 centuries (around the same time with Mexico). Then Americans liberated us. Currently we have US English as our second language and Spanish is deeply ingrained in our vocabulary. !BBH !LOLZ

We have many languages but generally we speak 3 languages. English, Filipino (National language), and the local language which usually depends on the which island one lives and we have more than 7 thousand islands πŸ˜…

What? That's crazy. And you have different languages for each island? Aren't they the same language with different dialect?
