Journey to Merapi

The trip from the hotel where we stayed was approximately 1.5 hours. The road we took was quite good, but the width was not maximal, so if the bus we were riding passed by another car, we had to slow down.

After going through the urban area, we entered the residential area and finally arrived at our destination.

After getting off the bus, the first thing we saw was a Jeep ready to take tourists around the area. There are 1,000 Jeeps that are always ready to take tourists around every day.

With every 1 Jeep filled with 4 passengers, we headed to the surrounding area that was hit by the lava of the eruption of Mount Merapi and was hit by hot clouds. Unfortunately, the peak of Mount Merapi is currently closed due to its level 2 alert condition, so it cannot be visited.

We were ushered into a museum of Our Remaining Treasures. In the museum there are many photos of the events that occurred in 2010.
