Hello December‼️🤗
Since my grandmother passed away in 2019 and Covid-19 hits year 2020-21, we have rarely celebrated Christmas with my mother's side of the family. For everyone's information, my mother is a convert to Islam. She is the only one who converted while her siblings are still Christians.
I am proud to have been born into a mixed-race and mixed-religion family. Our Christmas tradition usually involves traveling to Kota Kinabalu (a 45-minute flight from Sandakan). In the past, I used to work there (Kota Kinabalu), and my mother and children would come and visit since my late grandmother lived there with my aunt and her family.
But this year we won't be going there, and we plan to visit my other aunt and uncle here in my hometown since they won't be going to Kota Kinabalu for Christmas either.
Anyway, I hope that this New Year, my family and I can celebrate it together. We plan to have a barbecue with our other family members, but it's still in the planning stage since everyone's work schedule is uncertain at the end of the year.
I had to decline a job offer on December 15 because I didn't want to miss the chance to be with my family this New Year. It's okay, I'm sure I'll have another opportunity next year since I already have two jobs waiting for me. I hope it will come true.
I do wish to celebrate my Christmas and New Year with my family and start the new year with so much blessing and loves. I'm wishing all of you too will get the same blessing as me. Aamiinn.. 🤲🤗
