Hi Anglers
My name is Sonja Oosthuizen and i live in a little town called Struisbaai. I am a 46 year old home executive and when our Charter boat 🛥goes out i am surely the first one on as my husbands assistant skipper by trade. I love😍 the ocean soo much that i had to do my skippers and radio📟 course as well. I am from a town called Hartbeespoort dam where i was inspired by my dad, always going fishing with him in the dam whenever we had the opportunity and was hooked the moment i caught my first fish. My husband use to name me a "pap gooier" because of freshwater fishing until i moved to cape town, met my husband and started saltwater fishing on his boat. My dad, husband and youtube😅 taught me all i know about on and offshore angling.
My best fishing experience was when i went deep sea fishing on the boat and caught my first yellow tail. It was an awesome fight, and after that experience i just wanted more of that adrenaline feeling of excitement beyond having any words to explain it.
I believe the most important thing about going fishing is to honor the recreational fishing regulations that includes your daily bag limit, minimum size, seasonal fish as well as trying to release the highly resident and vulnerable species back into the ocean and please make sure to take all your plastics and garbage with you !!!!!📢 All anglers are so blessed to enjoy and having fun going fishing, the least we can do is respect the ocean as well.

I'm sorry if it seemed like Beeber was being rude, and I certainly hope that I don't come across that way by adding my two cents hehehe
But I really am trying to tell you the benefits of just adding the source to your images. It didn't seem like you were upset, but maybe you were - seeing as ganja took it as offensive also.

I was really not offended. I am glad we met again here too. I enjoyed participating inthe DreemPort thing too. I've just been very distracted this last 5 weeks with my rescues and I have another cat colony I'm trying to save so I haven't been very active online much. I kinda have figured out the discord so I'll try chat to you there if that's cool 😊

have you posted about it?? that could be a nice way to see if you could bring attention to the situation. Even if it doesn't end up bringing a lot of "help" - it can still be a nice way for you to document your feelings and just... the times you need to vent! you know?? sometimes its just good to pour your heart out and see if it connects with anyone
and even if it doesn't - what a great thing to look back on in a few years and see your journey and what you accomplished, what you learned, how you grew?

Here is a vote. Keep it up! Don't let some random person bully you with a rude comment and force you to change when you have excellent photography.
You don't have to cite your photography if it's original content. Only time you need a source is if you are using someone else's content...

You should know, it is generaly recommended to cite the sources at the end of a post.
I'm a bit scared to comment here lol but I see 3 people all with good intentions. It's not often that you encounter that and so passionately. I have only had good encounters with all of you and I very glad for it. I try never to take offense to written text most of the time as it can lack intent and emotion when trying to get a message across. I'm here to learn and grow and any help along the way is awesome. Especially now when I have been so distracted with life that I sometimes miss smaller details 😊

Since there are so many people who plagiarize on the platform, it is often just a good practice to ensure people that it is your own content.
Ganja is right ..you don't have to do anything! hehe we don't even have to cite images that are cc0... because attribution isn't required! but many people often do, because it sets blogs apart as taking the higher road 😍
I'm pretty sure that's what Beeber was trying to give you, hehehe a tip for making your blog even better!
Most people do it not only to be a good example for others but also to protect their own content by letting others know that they don't have permission to use YOUR photos without asking first! hehehe
and yes @luckyfish1 we all know you have incredible content!!! hehehe and are very happy that you're here!
maybe @ganjafarmer didn't realize that beeber knew you from before and was offering help you along. but it's great that he is going to share your content even further by helping to support you!

That's not much of an offer to help...
However I'll be happy to help this small account get set up and how to operate here on the blockchain.
@dreemsteem alot of people are putting these bullying messages telling others they have to do this or that. When that's not nice or correct.
You may of course do extra... But it's not required that you cite and recite your work.
And the partial vote to say they supported this... Kinda lame that they would use that excuse for a rude comment.
And yes absolutely a rude comment on your work telling you that you have to do more? Then oh I voted it partially should make it ok.... That's not very nice at all.
Content policing isn't fair nice or polite. Offering to help with advice? That's not in the original comment.
New accounts should really be hooked up with a mentor.
If it is your original content you do not have to continually recite yourself....
You only have to cite your sources when it is someone else's work.
You do not have to always cite every picture that you took and then recite them.
Please don't tell her this, when it might mean that she misses a nice upvote from a curation account that needs to see that it is her own work.
She has amazing content that should be getting eyes on it AND large upvotes from MANY curation communities.
Even journalists cite where images are from (even if they are their own) We get paid for our writing, we need to do all we can to earn as much as we can.
Please, for her sake, just allow her to have a stronger blog. This is not a battle of wills. This is an opportunity for her to possibly make more on her blog.

Growing up river bank or shore fishing when on holiday was fun, taught to use curried pap in river fishing by my uncle at the time.
