Does Chatgpt Have A Place On Hive?

in Ecency2 years ago

I haven't been doing much on Hive recently. Well that isn't quite true, I have been playing Rising Star.

When I first joined Hive via Ecency, I was quite excited about finding somewhere to share my thoughts and make a bit of crypto currency. However I soon realised that finding something to write about every day wasn't easy. I wanted to keep making something on Hive so playing a game like Rising Star seemed ideal. In fact it is a great game and I have been gradually going up the levels and I'm now at level 56. It is easier than writing on here every day.

Then I found out about Chatgpt and was amazed by the results I got from it. The content it creates is difficult to tell apart from something written by a human. So I'm thinking, is it ethical to use on Hive? I don't think it would be much use for writing personal blog posts, but it's brilliant for creating articles, stories and poems. Although sometimes what it creates needs some editing.

But is it ethical to use it? Should people be honest when it's used and place a note on anything it writes acknowledging it's been written by AI?

AI is becoming endemic in all of our lives, it would seem that more and more creative spheres, from art to music and now writing, are falling into the domain of AI. It leaves me wondering if it could be the end of creativity and the need for talent.

I guess it's inevitable that people are going to use Chatgpt to create content, especially on a platform like this one and not say they are using it. As for me, I'm still unsure if it's a good thing or not. But I'm also aware that it is very tempting.

By the way, this wasn't written using Chatgpt. The writing would be a better quality if it was!

Not sure if using ChatGPT is good to use here on Hive. I was on a blogging platform called Read.Cash and the bot randomrewarder stop rewarding last December because of ChatGPT. That's why most users there transferred to Hive.

Was Read based on crypto though? My understanding of Hive, although I could be wrong, it that interacting on the block chain is the way Hive is mined. Which would mean that as long as what you post creates interaction all is well. But I may have got that wrong.

I am sure there will be people who use Chatgpt on here. Some will be honest about it, which I think is best practice and others won't. Some will just copy and paste, while others will use what Chatgpt produces and edit and add to it.

One thing that would be very hard to use Chatgpt for is writing comments and interacting with people, which is a major part of success on the block chain. If you post rubbish it will earn little interaction and therefore little Hive. Actually you can write good stuff and get little interaction and earn little Hive from it, which can be quite frustrating.

Read Cash can be earned thru Bitcoin Cash.
